😄 📸 Hey Parkview, Let’s Get Ready for Fall Photo Day on Tuesday October 8th!
Here are a few tips for a great picture day.
- The Outfit: Choose clothes and colors that suit you. Avoid big patterns, logos, and slogans. Small accessories are fine, but nothing too distracting. Some poses show your whole outfit, so plan accordingly!
- Glasses? No Problem! Photographers know how to minimize glare, so no need to take them off.
- Any hairstyle works! Staff will be around to help with quick touch ups.
- Be Yourself: Skip the practiced smile—natural smiles are always the best!
- Perfectly Imperfect: Embrace your look!
Smile big, you’ve got this!

Mister G, a Latin GRAMMY-winning musician and author, brought his bilingual song "Señorita Mariposa" to life in a beautiful picture book, illustrated by Mexican artist Marcos Almada Rivero. The story has now been transformed into a musical play, premiering at Stages Theater in Hopkins!
Last Friday, Parkview Pre-K through second grade students got to experience a magical performance by Mister G. They had an absolute blast singing along in English, Spanish, and Hebrew, leaving with big smiles!
The concert/author visit was made possible through a Roseville Area Community Foundation grant as well as funding from the Capitol Region Watershed District's partner grant. Mister G's message of working together to make the world a better place for people and for nature is a perfect example of what these organizations do!

⏰ New Immunization Requirements for Roseville Area Schools ⏰
Starting Monday, October 21, 2024, Roseville Area Schools will enforce the Minnesota Immunization Law. This is crucial for maintaining healthy and safe school communities.
Here's what you need to know:
Students must meet ONE of the following criteria to continue attending school:
✅ Have received all required immunizations
✅ Have a scheduled immunization appointment
✅ Have submitted a notarized exemption form
Starting October 21, 2024:
❗Students who do not meet the immunization requirements will be instructed to stay home until the requirements are met.
❗These absences will be marked as unexcused.
Why this matters:
🏥 This policy helps protect our most vulnerable students, who are unable to receive vaccines.
🏥 It minimizes the time students miss due to disease outbreaks, as those not immunized may be required to stay home per the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).
🔎 If your student is missing any immunizations, you will receive a notice from the Health Office. Please respond promptly to ensure your student can remain in school. For questions or concerns, contact the Parkview Health Office at 651-487-4365.
Important Information: Measles Outbreak and School Safety Guidelines
Minnesota is currently experiencing a measles outbreak. Measles is a serious disease caused by a virus that spreads through coughing, breathing, and sneezing. It can spread easily, especially in schools, so it’s important to know how to prevent it and what to do if someone in your home gets sick.
The Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe, effective, and the best way to protect against measles. If your child has obtained an exemption for the MMR vaccine, they may be asked to remain home from school for 21 days or longer if exposed to measles.
If a family member gets measles or your unvaccinated child is exposed, the school will guide you on how to quarantine (stay home and out of school) and access educational support like homebound instruction to keep everyone safe.
If parents or families believe their child has experienced bullying, harassment, or intimidation related to the measles outbreak, they should contact their school principal.
More information about the risks of measles and the importance of MMR immunization can be found on MDH’s Measles Basics.
