Last week, we had a successful Picture Day and continued our focus on bus safety. On Wednesday, our Transportation staff were on-site, providing important bus safety training for all students. This ensures that our students are well-prepared to ride the bus safely throughout the school year.
This coming week is packed with important activities as we celebrate both Fire Prevention Week and our Playworks Kickoff Week!
We are proud to share that Richardson is a designated "Blue Shirt" school, and last year, ISD622 was named Minnesota's first "Blue Shirt" district! This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for structured play in collaboration with Playworks. You can read below about the criteria for receiving these designations.
On Friday, when there is no school for students, Playworks will provide training for 622 recess staff to help support safe and engaging play throughout the district. Additionally, Playworks will be training Richardson and other ISD622 recess staff on best practices for indoor recess. As the weather cools, this will ensure that even when we're indoors, recess remains a positive experience for all. (Classroom teachers will also be engaged in their own professional development on Friday to support our focus on utilizing research-based practices in reading, supporting students in developing math fact fluency and reaching our school improvement goals around student attendance).
