Here is what is happening in our building
Lunenburg Middle School Drama Club
Lunenburg Middle School Drama Club presents King Midas, Athena, Arachne, Persephone, Demeter and friends appearing in three Greek myths. This free performance will be on June 5 from 3:45 - 4:30 in the LMHS auditorium.
Grade Eight Graduation
8th Grade Graduation will take place Wednesday, June 12th @ 8:20am in the auditorium. Families are invited to come and celebrate our 8th graders’ middle school achievements and congratulate them on their transition to high school. We will be sending a sign-out form ahead of time if you anticipate dismissing your student at the conclusion of graduation. This will help the front office manage the amount of students that are leaving the building.
Washington D.C. Week for Students Staying at LMHS
For grade eight students who plan to attend school Tuesday 5/21 to Friday 5/24 during the trip to Washington DC, the students will be split into three groups and will be rotating through a series of hands-on, and outside activities including a STEM project in collaboration with third grade students. There will be no academic grading or assignments during that time that these students will be responsible for.
Quarter 4 grades
We are in the second half of the fourth quarter marking term, teachers have made the final grade average (F1) visible in power school, and that the F1 will continue to recalculate students average as scores are added to quarter 4. This is a good time to review grades w ith your student to ensure they are completing assignments and progressing,
Washington DC
Good afternoon,
THIS IS IT!!! Only 5 more days until departure, and we are getting the final pieces put together to ensure a smooth and successful trip. The link to the spring meeting slideshow is here. In it, you will find the name of our hotel, a packing list, and other pertinent information.
Students should be at LMHS at 5:45am on Tuesday, May 21st. They should have one small suitcase, one backpack, and 12-24 water bottles. Buses will pull out at 6:30am. Here are some important information about that morning:
Leave suitcases outside by the table with your bus number
Bring backpacks and water inside the cafeteria and find your chaperone group
Have breakfast either before arriving, or to bring on the bus
ONLY WATER is allowed on the bus - coffees and other drinks must be finished before boarding
Medications and doctor’s orders should already have been dropped off by a parent/guardian to the nurse’s office. No medication or orders will be collected on the morning of departure. Please contact Elizabeth Schatia (eschatia@lunenburgschools.net) with any health/medication questions.
We still have a few families that have not submitted the handbook form, which is a requirement for the trip. Please contact Mona Bowen in the main office for assistance.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to provide bus snacks. All donated items should already be at the middle school. If you have not done this yet, please do it today so we can divide the snacks between the two buses and be ready to roll early Tuesday morning.
As of this morning, the DC weather is sunny and in the 80s for all four days!! Keep an eye on that because things can change on a dime, but pack accordingly.
Thank you , and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at the email below.

LMHS LIBRARY DIGITAL RESOURCES
The library offers many digital resources such as research databases, ebooks, audiobooks, citation creation and digital notecard/research organization tools. Links to these can be found on the library website: https://sites.google.com/lunenburgschools.net/lmhs-library-media-center. The databases are grouped by subject areas to make navigating the many resources easier. Databases work automatically within the school building, but passwords are needed for home access. The database passwords are accessible from any database page on the library website - look for the blue banner at the top of each database page. As long as a student is logged into their school Google account, clicking that link will open the list of usernames and passwords for all of the databases offered through the library.
Mrs. Vallee is available in the library and by email at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net for any student needing help finding a book, researching a topic, using the databases, or creating citations.
OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
Reminder to all students - overdue notices are sent to your school email every Tuesday morning. If you need to keep the book longer for a project, just reply to the email that you’d like to have it renewed. We do not charge overdue fines, but books do need to be returned as part of senior obligations and if leaving the district/applying to Monty Tech. Don't forget you can log into your Destiny accounts any time to see which books you have checked out and when they are due.
Click the Library Media Center link on the LHS or LMS website
Choose Destiny Discover from the side navigation
Click login in the upper right corner. Your user name is the beginning of your Google account (2027MaryB) and your password is the same as your Google account (such as meb127999).
Check your lockers, cars, houses and classrooms for those books. Please get those overdue books in ASAP so that others can enjoy them too!!!
You can return books to the library or place them on the Return Cart outside the front office. See Mrs. Vallee in the library or email her at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net if you have any questions or need help renewing books. Thank you!!
Chromebook insurance
K-12 Tech has offered an extension to signing up for insurance for your Chromebook. You have until October 13th to purchase the insurance. This will be the last opportunity for this year. Unfortunately, this insurance will not cover any damage incurred prior to the purchase date. It is highly recommended that all families purchase this insurance so they are not left with repair costs.
