Updates: Graduation Procedures at Show Place Arena
As we look forward to celebrating the Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) Class of 2025, the Show Place Arena is implementing several changes that will impact all four 2025 graduations. These changes are driven by the Show Place Arena’s commitment to making the ceremonies more memorable and to ensure that all attendees can comfortably celebrate this significant milestone. The changes are as follows:
- All patrons must have a ticket for admittance and seating is General Admission.
- Scanned photocopies or pictures of tickets for admittance will not be accepted.
- No one will be permitted to re-enter for any reason, should a patron leave the arena.
- ADA seating is located around the arena with general admission ticketing. The banquet rooms will be utilized for ADA overflow if necessary.
- Only clear bags will be permitted into the facility.
- The Show Place Arena will be upgraded with Enhanced Weapons Detection Systems (EWDS) at all entrances (Lobby, North Tunnel, South Tunnel and side entrances). All patrons, graduates, staff and volunteers must enter the building through the EWDS and will be scanned with a metal detecting wand if necessary.

High School Summer School Changes
The Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) High School Summer School Program provides students with the opportunity to recover credit for courses they failed during the school year. It allows students to demonstrate their knowledge of the curriculum and skills necessary to be successful in subsequent courses. Below are the expectations of the program:
High School Summer School Framework:
- Summer school will last for 16 days. Students may miss no more than two days without losing credit.
- This curriculum will focus on essential content and skill development. APEX will not be used for Summer School Review Courses, and there will be no "testing out" option.
- Students may take a maximum of two summer school courses.
- Online courses (from the specified list of online classes – things like Health 1, Health 2, Financial Lit, Foundations of Computer Science, etc) may be taken for original or review credit. These courses will require synchronous Teams meetings on the dates listed in the 2025 Summer School Brochure.
*** IMPORTANT: CCPS will NOT be providing student transportation for high school summer school.
