Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and restful break! Thank you to Mother Nature for extending the break and giving the kids an opportunity to play in the snow. It's hard to believe that we are already kicking off the second semester of our school year, but hopefully everyone is refreshed and ready to get back into learning.
The beginning of the second semester brings with it a busy season for testing. Students ended the first semester with NWEA testing and will now be looking toward the second ILEARN Checkpoints tests. In the upcoming days, teachers will be reviewing material and making sure that our students are set up for success on the tests. Look for information to be coming home soon regarding when your child will be taking the tests.
Of course, the winter months always mean the possibility of snow days, elearning days, and two-hour delays. Mr. Gehring sent out information yesterday regarding the expectations for elearning days. Please be sure that you have read through the email and have a clear understanding of what to expect. Your child will be coming home today with three days worth of elearning materials that will be used in the event of an elearning day. These materials should be kept in a safe place so that they are easily found when/if they are needed. If you have any questions regarding elearning, please feel free to reach out to us.
Again, Happy New Year from all of us at MCS!

Important Reminders/Announcements ⛄
Please be sure that your child is bundled up with a coat, hat, and gloves each day. When our temperatures reach 32 degrees or above, we will have outdoor recess.
As a reminder, if your child is sick, he/she must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school. For example, if you pick up your child due to illness at noon on Monday, he/she may not return to school until Wednesday morning or 24 hours after the symptoms subside. This will help us to control the spread of sickness.
