Dear Methacton Families,
I want to take a moment and address concerns you may have about the new PaySchools Cafeteria Account system.
1) LONG LINES: We discovered that there was an issue with the Point of Sale Software and the cash drawer that essentially would freeze the system requiring frequent reboots. Once we determined a work around, we were able to move students through serving lines as usual. This issue is expected to be fully resolved by next week, resulting in smoother operations at the school's cash registers.
2) CASH OR CHECK: Reminder - Similar to years past, deposits of cash/check can be made at the cafeteria. This is a great way to avoid processing fees.
3) PROCESSING FEES: Methacton incorrectly communicated PaySchools processing charge fees on August 1, 2024. A corrected email was sent on August 5, 2024 and included the following:
- Paid with electronic check (all transaction amounts): $1.95 per transaction
- Paid with credit/debit cards (transactions less than $25): $1.75 per transaction
- Paid with credit/debit cards (transactions $25 to $49.99): $2.25 per transaction
- Paid with credit/debit cards (transactions greater than $49.99): $4.50%
To avoid these fees - send cash or check in with your child.
4) TRANSFER OF FUNDS AMONGST STUDENTS: Please be advised that our team is working with the software provider to determine best method for transfer of funds between students. We hope to have more information for parents on this matter next week.
