- 3rd-4th grade Book Trailers
- 5th-6th grade Book Trailers
- Middle School Book Trailers
- High School Book Trailers
Battle of the Books in a Nutshell: Three students constitute a grade level team as follows: scribe, spokesperson, member at large, a fourth is the alternate. Each member reads the official book list for their level. During the scheduled competition, the students first battle teams from their own district by answering a series of questions with simply the title of the book and the author. The winning teams move on to battle other teams in other school districts within Alaska in the same manner. You can become an expert on a few books – so don’t let it discourage you from participating if you do not feel you can read them all!
It is a lot of fun working together as a team but we have to get reading now! We hope you will consider becoming a part of a Battle of the Books team.

If you like to read, meet new people, and show what you know, come and be a part of a Juneau Raven Homeschool Battle of the Books team!
Raven Homeschool is committed to holding practice sessions in order to challenge your book knowledge and assist you in competition preparation. Once we determine interest, we will work on a schedule for virtual practice meeting times until we can get together in person. The district battles will be in Jan/Feb and state battles are Feb 22-25.
