GLOBE recognized for exceptional math growth in 7th and 8th grades
Last Thursday, State School Superintendent Richard Woods presented our school with a banner recognizing GLOBE's exceptional math growth in 7th and 8th grades!
This achievement reflects years of dedicated work and collaboration across our entire school. Special recognition goes to Ms. Bruen, Dr. Hertz, Mr. Calvert, and Ms. Marin, whose outstanding leadership and instruction in our middle school math program has been transformative.
This success story starts in our elementary classrooms - from kindergarten through 6th grade. Every GLOBE teacher has played a vital role in building the strong mathematical foundation that made this achievement possible. GLOBE's commitment to excellence in math education, regardless of grade level, continues to make a remarkable difference in our students' lives.

Campus notes
Lower Campus
Canned Food Drive
All week, the Lower Campus faculty and staff have been participating in team building activities based on the classic holiday movie Home Alone! In the movie, Kevin’s mom (played by the great Catherine O’Hara) couldn’t find a flight to get her from Scranton, PA, back to Chicago. So she thought…”Perhaps I CAN DRIVE!”In her honor, we’re holding a two-day canned food drive to benefit the food pantry at DEAM (Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry). Even though the canned food drive was planned for staff participation, students are also welcome to bring in a can or two tomorrow and/or Friday of this week only. A collection box will be set up near the main front doors.
Friday, December 20, is an early release day
Friday, December 20, is an early release day for ALL students - including those who usually attend aftercare. If you don’t normally participate in our afternoon pick-up, please click here to familiarize yourself with the procedures. Dismissal will begin at 11:30am at LC.
