Principal Update
On behalf of the entire staff, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the generosity of our PTO during Staff Appreciation Week. Your thoughtful gifts have brought warmth to our hearts and our feet! Who doesn’t love a cozy pair of socks when it’s 5 below? Your support and kindness remind us why our school community is so special. Thank you for all you do to make us feel valued and appreciated!
A huge thank-you to all the amazing parent volunteers who made the Holiday Shop a success! Because of your time and effort, our students had a wonderful experience filled with fun and learning.
Not only did they enjoy shopping for their loved ones, but they also practiced valuable life skills like budgeting, decision-making, and thinking of others. It’s these moments that make the holiday season even more special for our school community.
We’re so grateful for all the support from our parents for our students and staff to bring joy to their school days!
Warm Regards,
Dr. Ruesch

Mrs. Allison Hudson, our Multilingual Specialist--Her project will support the purchase of diverse "Choose Your Own Adventure" books that align tour Character Strong Curriculum. The author of the books wonderfully combines “choose your own adventure,” diversity, and social emotional learning. In each book, children are confronted with social situations that they will recognize from school, the playground, home or even the bus stop. Some of the social situations include: my friends are arguing, my best friend has a new friend, you can encourage others, etc. The characters are diverse-elementary aged students, and the reader is able to choose different actions that the character can take in a situation, which will impact how the story ends.
Ms. Taylor Uhlarik, Mrs. Ilona Solymossy, & Ms. Jessica Timpe from 2nd grade--Their project supports the creation of Calm Down Corners in their classrooms. The Calm Down Corners can be used to teach students strategies like deep breathing, mindfulness, or using sensory tools, which can be valuable skills for lifelong emotional management. By allowing students to take a break when needed, the overall classroom environment can become more positive and focused, benefiting all learners.
Toy Drive
The Rose Ambassadors and Student Council are teaming together with FTC Robotics at Barrington High School to collect toys for hospitalized children at Alexian Brothers Hospital. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy (no stuffed animals). Bins for collection will be in each pod area through Monday, December 16th. The class that has the most donations will receive a Hot Cocoa and Candy Cane party!
