Greetings AES Community,

Happy Friday! Here are some things coming up this month to put on your calendar.

• No School Monday and Tuesday of next week (March 7 & 8).
• Our trimester ends on March 18th, so you can expect to see report cards and mid-year testing data come home on March 25th.
• March 28- April 1st - we will host NHDI (New Hampshire Dance Institute) for a week-long dance residency for grades k-4. This will culminate with a performance on Friday April 1st - 5pm- in the Great Brook gym. Mark your calendars!
• Kindergarten screening will take place on March 30th. Please click on this link to see the kindergarten registration page.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am looking forward to spring and warmer weather. We have an abundance of lost and found items. We will be having students look through those items soon. If you are missing something important, please contact Sarah in the office, and we can arrange for you to look through the items.

March is Read Across America month at AES! Read Across America is an annual motivation and awareness program designed to encourage children across the country to engage in reading. To celebrate reading this year, we are actively inviting community members to come in and read to our children. If you are interested in sharing a favorite story, please call the AES library 603-588-6371 - ask for Mr. Stultz.

All first graders are learning how to write "super sentences," and are very proud of their work!

We're working together to create word banks that help us choose words for describing an animal and what it does. We're also adding details that tell where and when the animal is doing something.

The children are working on a project about wild animals in the winter. They have started to write super sentences to tell about the animal's food, habitat, how it stays warm, how it adapts to life in the winter, and a fun fact! We're also excited to create a big mural with help from Mrs. Storro!

By the looks of it in the pictures below, Ms. Jay's class was reading The Mitten today.

Ms. Starr's class celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday!

Kindergarten has been working hard learning about number bonds! We can use our number bonds to solve addition and subtraction problems. This week we used 2 sided counters to find parts of a whole number. We then filled out our number bonds with how many red and how many yellow and then filling out the whole group. We are mathematicians!
