Nurse Amy is collecting gift cards from Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer of any amount for the holidays.

Gift cards will directly benefit families at CHS!

Holiday meals will be distributed at Joy Lutheran church, Monday November 24th, 2:00pm-7:00pm.

Congratulations to Volleyball for competing in Regions this past weekend and going to state this upcoming week! The first round of State is Thursday morning. Information on the State Tournament Bracket can be found on the ASAA website. The rifle team is competing in Regions this weekend! What a great season!!

As the year rolls on our next sports to begin are Basketball and Basketball Cheer on Dec. 4th.

Please get your paperwork completed on PlanetHS.com and check in with the Activities Office to get your Golden Ticket. Do not wait until the day of tryouts (Dec. 4th) to get your Golden Ticket.

Students; if you have paid for an Activities Sticker for watching activities please swing by the Activities office to get it put on your ID.

Activities office hours are 8:00-4:00- closed during 4th period.

REMEMBER GOLDEN TICKETS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL SPORTS BEFORE YOU PARTICIPATE IN A PRACTICE.

• Grade checks have been completed for all Returning athletes. All student-athletes need to have a 2.0 GPA, (with only 1 “F”), to be eligible for sports and have passed 2.5 credits worth in the Spring Semester of Last Year.

Senior Portraits were due on October 25th . If your senior did not attend school picture day and did not submit by October 25th, they will not be featured in the portraits section of the yearbook this year. If they did attend picture day, but have not submitted yet, we may be able to replace their school photo with a submitted portrait. Please have your senior visit room 204 for more info.

Seniors wishing to have a preferred name that has not been changed in Q/Parent Connect need to have parents email handeland_mackenna@asdk12.org by Friday 11/8 approving the name swap. Please include the correct spelling of the original name and the preferred name in your email. Please also ensure that the email it is sent from matches the parent email in Parent connect.

All Senior Portraits will be posted in the hallway outside of 204/205 from Tuesday, November 12th to Wednesday, November 20th. Please visit and review the proofs to ensure that:
a) The correct and intended portrait has been used

b) Your senior quote was approved

c) Your name is correct and spelled correctly

d) Your selected activities are listed correctly

It is the student's responsibility to review these proofs to ensure that their portrait and information are correct. If you see any issues, there will be a form to complete to have this fixed. If the student is absent during that time frame, or is a full time AMCS or partial enrollment, they should have another student send them a picture or visit before or after school.

Senior Tribute Ads are still available for purchase. Please visit www.yearbookforever.com to choose your ad size and upload your photos and message for our team to design. Sales close January 15th.

Senior Portrait Submissions are open now at bit.ly/chugiak2025. They are due October 25. Completing the survey will take about 15 minutes, including uploading your senior photo. More info about what is allowed in senior portraits, senior tribute ads, and senior quotes can be found at chugiakyearbook.com

Now that we are three weeks into the school year, parents should verify that their students have a working Chromebook. Ask them to show you that they can access Canvas, the online platform teachers use to post assignments, announcements, and other important class information. Secondly, have them access Student Connect, then from there the Assignments tab. This is where graded assignments, and overall grades can be found.

A few reminders about ASD issued Chromebooks:

• Students and families are responsible for the care and appropriate usage of the devices.
• If your Chromebook is damaged or not working properly, please bring it to the library for repair or replacement.
• Replacing a device costs $225.
• Fines for damaged Chromebooks will vary.
• If your student needs a Chromebook, they need to report to the library to have one issued.

Payment for high school parking permits has been suspended again for the 24-25 school year.
