Senior Honors Night
Tuesday April 29th, 2025:
Location: Morton West Auditorium
Time: 5:00pm
Seniors will be recognized by various departments, community organizations, and other entities for awards and scholarships, throughout a night of celebration and recognition.
Operation Prom Night
Friday May 2nd, 2025
9:00am
Location: Morton West Auditorium and Staff Parking Lot
Students will watch a demonstration that focuses on encouraging responsible decisions on prom night, and demonstrate the dangers of drinking and driving.
Summa Cum Laude Celebration
Saturday May 3rd, 2025
Location: Morton West Patio Area Off of Home Avenue (Great Room as Poor Weather Alternative)
Time: 5:00pm
This event is for Summa Cum Laude seniors. Dinner and music will be provided, as well as an awards ceremony.
Senior Sunrise
Friday May 9th, 2025
Time: 5:15am
Location: Morton West Football Field
Drinks and Pastries Available
Students will hangout during the sunrise, reminisce with fellow seniors, and enjoy beverages and pastries.
Seal of Biliteracy Awards
Tuesday May 13th, 2025
5:00pm
Morton West Auditorium
Seniors, who have completed the requirements for the Seal of Biliteracy will be recognized for their efforts and achievement.
Senior Brunch

Location: Travel from West to Navy Pier for Trip on Spirit of Chicago

Mandatory Senior Picnic and Graduation Practice
Wednesday May 21st, 2025:
Practice 10:00am-11:00am
Picnic: 11:00am-1:00pm
Morton West Stadium, Enter Main Gate of Stadium
Students will have an opportunity to visit with friends one last time as the year finishes up, while enjoying burger, hotdogs, snacks, music, and games. Students will also participate in a graduation walk through to prepare for the Graduation Ceremony the following week.
Graduation Cap and Gown Pick Up
Wednesday May 21st, 2025
11:00am-1:00pm
Location: Morton West Freshman Academy Great Room
Students will arrive and pick up their Cap and Gown from the counselors in the Morton West Freshman Academy Great Room.
Prom
Location: Donald E. Stephen's Convention Center
Ticket Price: $95.00 Time 6:30-11:00pm
Dinner, dancing, and photo opportunities are included. Students must arrange their own transportation to the Donald E. Stephen's Convention Center.
Graduation
Thursday May 29th, 2025
Where: Morton West Stadium, meet South of Tennis Courts at 6:00pm
When: 8:00pm May 29th, 2025
Graduates should arrive with their Cap and Gown at 6:00pm, they should not have bags or other items with them, and should not wear anything not approved by Morton 201.
Graduation Cap Decorating Guidelines
Guidelines:
The purpose of decorating your graduation cap is to enhance and personalize your graduation celebration. It is appropriate to put the following on your cap.
· Thank a parent, grandparent, teacher, or friend
· Recognize the university you will be attending
· Their graduation year
· The branch of the military they will be joining
· Their home country’s flag
Please take into consideration the following rules when decorating your graduation cap. Failure to follow these rules will result in the removal of the cap at the ceremony. Students WILL NOT be allowed to participate in the ceremony without a cap and gown.
· Contain any advertisement, symbols, abbreviations, initials, words, slogans, patches, or pictures that: Refer to drugs or controlled substances, tobacco, alcohol, weapons, political in nature, or be of a sexual nature.
· Denote an affiliation with gangs or which advocate drug use, violence, illegal activity, or disruptive behavior which is detrimental to the safety and welfare of other students.
· Be obscene, profane, vulgar, or lewd.
· Include numbers other than the graduation year.
· Threaten the safety and welfare of any person.
· Only the flat, top area of the mortar board may be decorated. There may be nothing hanging down from any of the sides of the cap.
·Decorations must be flat on the surface of the cap. 3-D creations are prohibited.
Graduation caps will be reviewed and approved in advance of the ceremony.
Your cap CANNOT make noise. No bells, horns, or anything that makes noise.
