WT Page Principal's Message
Dear Page Families,
Here are the weekly updates and important information.
1. Have you signed up for parent-teacher conferences? Parent-teacher Conferences are an essential opportunity to strengthen the partnership between families and our school. These meetings provide a valuable chance for parents to discuss their child’s progress, celebrate successes, and address any areas of concern in collaboration with teachers. We encourage all families to take part, as open communication is key to supporting our students’ growth and achievement. Please mark your calendar and come prepared to engage in meaningful conversations that can positively impact your child’s learning experience. We look forward to seeing you there!
2. Federal Impact Aid Survey - Parent and Guardians will receive a Federal Impact Aid Survey printed on pink paper. Each year, schools send out a survey in connection with Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (Impact Aid). The United States Department of Education funds school districts that have many students with parents or guardians connected to the federal government and live on certain federal housing properties. The purpose of the funds is to reimburse school districts for the loss of property taxes from tax-exempt federal properties. The amount of funds received is based on the number of completed surveys received from parents or guardians who are on active duty with the uniformed services, employed on federal property, reside in federal or public housing, and/or are a foreign government military officer. Forms must be completed and returned by December 6th.
3. Lost and Found Alert: Coats, Jackets, Lunch Boxes, and Water Bottles!: Our school's Lost and Found area is overflowing with various items, including coats, jackets, lunch boxes, and water bottles. It seems like the latest warm weather has caused an influx of misplaced belongings!
If your child is missing any of these items, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found area located near the cafeteria. We highly recommend labeling your belongings with your name and contact information to facilitate their return in case of loss.
Additionally, you can check for items during if you visit during parent conferences. Unclaimed items will be donated to "Clothing for Cash" white box in our school parking lot after Thanksgiving break.
4. 2024-2025 Parent/Guardian Family Engagement Survey - Please look out for the 2024-2025 Parent/Guardian Family Engagement Survey. This survey is a valuable opportunity for you to share your insight and contribute to the ongoing improvement of William Tyler Page Elementary School. Your opinions and experiences matter to us, and your input is essential in the collaborative planning of school improvement, the academic learning environment, and family and community-wide engagement. Your insights and voice in sharing what is working well and where there may be opportunities for enhancement will guide our efforts in making informed decisions to better serve our students, families, and community of William Tyler Page Elementary School. Your participation is completely confidential and the data collected will be used solely for the purpose of enhancing our educational programs, activities, and services. Your honest feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate your time completing the survey.
5. Snack Donations for Parent-Teacher Conferences - As we prepare for upcoming parent-teacher conferences, the PTA would like to show their appreciation for all of the our hard-working teachers by providing a variety of snacks and refreshments in the teachers' lounge. These small gestures go a long way in keeping their energy up and showing how much we value all they do for our students. The PTA is asking for donations of individually packaged snacks, such as granola bars, fruit, nuts, crackers, and other easy-to-grab items. If you're able to contribute, please drop off your donations in the front office.

Social Studies Team Hosting Curriculum Night Webinars
- The MCPS Social Studies team is hosting a series of Curriculum Night webinars for families to learn more about how social studies is taught in MCPS and how its curricula in kindergarten through 11th grade incorporate the history of various ethnic and cultural groups. The webinars will be held from 6:30–7:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Call for Silent Auction Items!
Do you own or work for a business that takes supporting the community seriously? Does the thought of showing off your product or services to the William Tyler Page community sound appealing?
The WT Page PTA is gearing up for our 2025 Silent Auction and we need your support! Please consider a donation of goods, services, or experiences to help us raise money for our kids. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit our students, providing everything from classroom supplies, to technology upgrades, to extracurricular activities and special events.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a significant impact on our school community. If you are interested in donating, email fundraising@wtpagepta.org by January 15, 2025 to coordinate a convenient pickup or drop-off.

Teachers Lounge Snack Donation
- While our beloved teachers are busy raising the bar for our kiddos, we are going to set a different "BAR" for them daily to say "Thank YOU" for all their hard work. If you would like to drop-off snacks, please leave them in the Front Office and let the staff know that the items are for the Snack Pantry.
