School Board Appreciation Month
This November, as we mark School Board Appreciation Month, let's take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the exceptional leaders serving on our district's school board. Their tireless dedication and commitment to our students, staff, and community have been instrumental in shaping a brighter future for us all. Our Board members volunteer countless hours to ensure our schools provide a high-quality education, a safe learning environment, and opportunities for every child to succeed. They are passionate advocates for public education, and their unwavering support has enabled our district to thrive.
Thank you, school board members, for your leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Your hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated.

Parent Communication Survey
Reaching an entire school community in today's digital and mobile world requires planning. As a district, we're examining what the best methods are to reach our families. The feedback we receive from this survey will help ensure that our families are informed and engaged. Please complete this survey for each school that your children attend. Thank you for your input.

United Education Foundation Mini Grant Recipients
The mission of the United Education Foundation (UEF) is to enhance the educational experience for all students of the partner schools (Carbon Cliff-Barstow, Colona, Hampton, Silvis, UTHS and EMSD #37). As part of the mission of the UEF, they fund mini grant proposals submitted by partner district teachers and paraprofessionals in academic areas including, but not limited to, science, language arts, math, health/physical education, fine arts, technology and distance learning. Every year, many of our EMSD #37 educators submit a grant to support the work they are doing in their classrooms with innovative programming for students. We are proud to share that EMSD #37 had 20 successful recipients of the award. Kudos to those educators who go above and beyond to supplement the great work they are doing in their classrooms for our students! Pictured below are the EMSD #37 recipients who were in attendance at the award ceremony held on Monday, October 28th.

The Secret Life of Teachers Podcast
In this year’s new Digital Literacy course, 7th grade students get real-world, hands-on experience in podcasting by recording episodes of a new podcast called, “The Secret Life of Teachers.” In each episode, students interview a Glenview Middle School teacher or staff member with the goal to find out interesting facts and stories about what that teacher is like outside of school.
This new course teaches students interview skills, how to write scripts for a specific audience, how to give and receive feedback, tips and tricks for recording audio, and how to market their podcast by creating marketing materials such as social media posts and fliers.
To listen to the podcast, visit EMSD37.org and search for “Podcast" or find it wherever you get your podcasts by searching “Glenview Secret Life of Teachers."
