Attendance matters at Jenkins High School!
Attendance Officer Information and Procedures
Jenkins High School has an attendance officer who assists with attendance and excusing absences with documentation. Mrs. Angelique Akins is our attendance officer, and her email address is angelique.atkins1@sccpss.com.
If you child is absent from school, please have them bring the note to the front office. Mrs. Atkins will keep the copy of the note and excuse your child's absence from school. They should follow the same procedure for a partial day absence if they are signed out for an appointment. Students are allowed to bring 5 handwritten notes from parent/guardian.
We also have an Attendance Committee that meets weekly to review attendance data and identify students with excessive absences. The Attendance Committee is also tasked with forwarding letters to parents/guardians of students who have excessive absences. The state of Georgia has a Compulsory Attendance Law for those students who are 15 and younger.
If you have additional questions or concerns with attendance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Spring Testing Calendar - please see attached!
SCCPSS Uniform Requirements - Daily Checks in 1st block! No hats, ski masks, or hoods should be worn in the building! No slides, soccer shoes, or shoes without backs allowed at school!
Jenkins High School - Red or White collared shirt and Black or Khaki pants.
Please be mindful of the skirt length. Should not be more than 3 inches above the knee.
For safety reasons, hoods are NOT allowed to be worn in the building!
Requiring students to remove their hoods helps to deter any potential issues related to anonymity. Hooded clothing can make it harder to identify students, which can be problematic in the context of security and maintaining a respectful and accountable school community.
Thank you for your dedication to your child's education and our school community. Your support in upholding our school uniform policy, even as the weather cools down, is greatly appreciated.
