It's time to start thinking about Back-to-School!
As we are busy getting ready for the upcoming school year, this early edition of the Summer Newsletter will give you some helpful information. A more complete newsletter will follow later in July. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back soon.
Staggered start dates - A message from Mr. Kauffeld
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer break. As the new school year approaches, we want to inform you about an important adjustment to our start-of-the-school-year schedule.
To ensure a smooth transition for our students and staff, we have decided to implement a staggered start for the new school year. This means that different grade levels will have different start dates. Please take note of the following schedule:
- Wednesday, August 14, 2024: Back-to-School Night, 4:00 - 7:00 pm (more information on this event to come)
- Thursday, August 15, 2024: The first day of school for 5th graders.
- Friday, August 16, 2024: The first day of school for 6th graders.
- Monday, August 19, 2024: All students will attend school together.
- Our school day begins at 8:40 am. Doors open at 8:30 am and we dismiss at 3:30 pm
The staggered start will provide an opportunity for our younger students to acclimate to the new school environment before the entire student body is present. It allows us to focus on the specific needs of each grade level and create a more personalized and supportive experience for our students.
Additionally, we understand that some parents may not be able to attend the open house on August 14, therefore, we have scheduled a brief parent meeting on the mornings of August 15 and 16, respectively. This meeting will cover important information about the upcoming school year, introduce our administrative team, and address any questions or concerns you may have. We highly encourage all parents who were unable to attend the open house to join us on the designated morning for their child's grade level.
Here are the details for the parent meetings:
- Date: Morning of August 15, 2024 (for 5th-grade parents)
- Date: Morning of August 16, 2024 (for 6th-grade parents)
- Time: 8:40am
- Location: Cafeteria
We believe that this staggered start and parent meeting will help establish a strong foundation for the academic year and foster effective communication between the school and parents. It is important for us to work together to ensure the success and well-being of our students.
We will provide further updates and reminders as the new school year approaches. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. We look forward to a fantastic school year ahead!
Sincerely,
Michael Kauffeld
