1. Watch for an email from Checkr. This is for your background check and is for all Boosters, whether you're hosting a F2F or not. The school covers this cost.
2. Order your Booster ID card. The cost is covered.
3. Participate in the F2F training below if you'd like to host a F2F.
4. Post your outing to the calendar if you're hosting a F2F. Allow 4 weeks notice.
5. Susie sends out Booster kits every month. It might take a bit for you to get yours. Email sebie@k12.com if you have a rush.
6. Attend the live meetings or listen to a recording to stay in the loop. Boosters do many things - not just F2F!
7. Reach out to Kendra, Harlie, Susie or Julene if you need anything!

Boosters are huge part of our school community because they have a heart for family success! We are so thankful for them.

They are volunteer Learning Coaches who band together to help our school be a better place for all. Led by Hayley Halloran-Clark, the Booster President, they especially help support families in OHVA Facebook groups.

Other Booster Leaders form our school's Parent Leadership Team, often referred to as the PAC - Parent Advisory Council, a familiar name used at ODE.They are an amazing group of volunteers. Together and with school support Boosters is doing great things for you and our school.

OHVA has several Facebook groups for parents to connect and receive support from each other. Veteran Boosters and school admin are in these groups to facilitate accurate info and help for families. We welcome you to join!*

Are you new to Ohio Virtual Academy and you're looking for connections with experienced Learning Coaches? Request to join our OHVA Newbie group!

Join a grade band focused Facebook group just for OHVA parents. Connect for support and mentoring:

OHVA Learning Coaches of K - 2nd Graders

OHVA Special Support - for Learning Coaches who have an OHVA special education student on an IEP.

When you ask to join, we'll ask you for your student's ID# along with a couple of questions to verify you're a parent/Learning Coach.

BE a Friend....MAKE a Friend! Spread friendship at OHVA events, and get a BUTTON! Then wear your button at any OHVA event and be welcoming, kind and friendly!

Please be informed about what the handbook says about ACTIVITIES.

Due to changes with COVID-19, participation in any in-person (F2F) or online activity hosted by OHVA representatives (staff or OHVA Booster) may be included in order to meet this requirement. Students will be able to interact in social activities and learning opportunities that include OHVA Clubs, and a variety of face-to-face events offered during the school year, including Booster F2F events!

• Provides modules to complete online to inform and prepare you about all things OHVA. Start with Module 1 and move forward throughout the school year.
• Online sessions on helpful topics for busy Learning Coaches - new and/or veteran LC's.
• Recognition for our hard-working Learning Coaches. Each Module has a certificate. When you complete Module 5 you will receive a special gift! Let us celebrate your learning too, as your student grows this year.
• If you also would like to be a Booster, please complete the series after you sign up! (See above).

DAY 1 RECORDING with Dr. Stewart, Kyle Wilkinson, Emily Rogers and Johna McClure - our OHVA Senior Administrators! Great discussion, questions, learning about the Science of Reading, new tools like Engageli, snacks at testing...lots of great info and feedback from our Boosters.
