Upgrade For Next Year - New Learning Management System: CANVAS
We get to have an upgrade next year from Summit as our learning management system to Canvas as our new learning management system. We are excited for many reasons and in preparation for next year:
https://www.instructure.com/canvasIt's a big deal that we will continue to get a learning platform that costs other schools/districts millions of dollars - for free (thanks to our continued partnership with Gradient Learning).
Canvas is the same platform most of the nation uses at the college level (for example, all of the Idaho schools are on Canvas).
Of the high schools that have a learning platform the vast majority of them use Canvas.
For any who would like to explore Canvas further here is their website with demos and/or a free trial subscription: https://www.instructure.com/canvas
When you return in August we will be working together to support everyone as we get up to speed with Canvas as our new platform.
Student Class Schedules
Student schedules are being finalized for the upcoming school year. Schedules are built based upon parent approved student course requests. Students will be able to view their schedule in early August. Look for more information to follow on schedules when we return in early August.
Hey Wildcat Family, my name is Erin Bauder and I am thrilled to join you as your new Dean of Students. I grew up in Idaho and graduated high school from New Plymouth. I recently obtained my Education Specialist degree from NNU. My husband, Jared and I have two beautiful daughters, Allison and Whitney. We reside in Nampa and enjoy spending free time together outside, playing, and traveling. The picture is of us hanging out at Coronado Beach near San Diego this summer.
Skyler will be teaching in our special education department. We are excited to have Skyler back at Columbia High School as this is where Skyler graduated High School. This will be Skyler's 4th year of teaching. We are excited to have Skyler as a teacher on campus as he is our Head Baseball coach.
