• School-wide PTF Meeting: Join us this Friday at 8:15 am in the Worship Center for our Parent-Teacher Fellowship meeting. We look forward to seeing you there and discussing important updates and events!

• School Picture Days: Students in grades JK-11 will have their photos taken on September 23rd and 24th. Don’t forget to dress your best and bring your smiles!

• Applications for the 25-26 School Year: Starting September 18th, applications will open for siblings of current SLCA families. Be sure to apply at www.southlakechristian.org early to secure your spot!

Join us for the National Honor Society Induction ceremony on September 11 at 7:00 pm in the Worship Center. We encourage staff and families to attend to support our inductees.

PURCHASE TICKETS

We are excited to announce that tickets for the Homecoming Dance are now available! This year's event promises to be an unforgettable evening, and we encourage everyone to purchase their tickets soon to take advantage of our early bird discount. Tickets are currently priced at $25 via Go Fan. However, this rate will increase to $35 after September 23. To secure your tickets at the discounted rate, please make your purchase by the deadline.

Students and guests must follow our Dance Dress Code Guidelines. If a student is planning to bring a guest to the dance, they must obtain a form from Mrs. Saunders at the office.

St. John will be present on-site for school photos on September 23 and 24, specifically for students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 11.

• September 23: Students in Grades JK-6 will have their photos taken.
• September 24: Students in Grades 7-11 will have their photos taken.

Students will step into the Middle Ages on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and under the towering spire of St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin. In Belfast, old conflicts have given way to an influx of restored 19th-century architecture and a thriving arts scene. They will spend eight days exploring and expanding our knowledge of Scottish and Irish history and culture.

Windy Gap is a Young Life camp in the mountains of North Carolina where SouthLake has its junior high and upper school retreat. During our time at Windy Gap, students can unplug and focus on building relationships with their classmates, teachers, and administration. The students participate in worship, chapel services, small groups, games, and competitions. Windy Gap is always favorite and is a great way to start our school year! *Students must arrive at school by 8:15 a.m. Details will be emailed as we get closer to the trip.

• Tug of War Themes: Each year the students plan a theme for the Tug of War event. All students can participate, not just the students on the tug of war teams. This year’s themes are

  • Seniors: Blackout

  • Juniors: Camo

  • Sophomores: USA

  • Freshman: Superhero

• Surprise Events: The Windy Gap Planning Committee has a couple surprise events planned for all students. The themes for the events are White Out and 80’s Athletic.

We encourage all staff and students to wear their themed outfits at school to show enthusiasm. This will continue for each home football match. If successful, we aim to expand this practice to winter and spring athletics. Here's a list of upcoming home game themes to help you prepare.

Volunteer: The Eagle Club is looking for volunteers for admissions and concessions at our home athletic events. Members of the Beta Club can obtain service hours by signing up for any of these sporting events. Sign up here!
