📢 Helping Your Elementary Student Stay Focused as the School Year Wraps Up! 📚
As the end of the school year nears, maintaining focus can become a challenge for our young learners. Parents, you play a crucial role in supporting your elementary-aged students during this time! Here are some tips to help keep them on track:
1. **Establish a Routine:** Consistency is key! Set up a daily schedule that includes dedicated study and play times to provide structure and help them stay focused.
2. **Create a Distraction-Free Environment:** Designate a quiet, clutter-free space for homework. Minimize distractions like TV, gadgets, or loud noises.
3. **Break Tasks into Manageable Chunks:** Encourage your child to tackle assignments in small, manageable segments. This can prevent overwhelm and maintain their focus throughout.
4. **Offer Positive Reinforcement:** Celebrate achievements, no matter how small! Positive encouragement boosts morale and motivates children to stay focused on their goals.
5. **Lead by Example:** Show your child the importance of focus by modeling good study habits yourself. Let them see you reading, working, or engaging in focused activities.
6. **Encourage Regular Breaks:** Short breaks can help refresh the mind and prevent burnout. Encourage your child to take brief pauses between tasks to recharge.
7. **Stay Connected with Teachers:** Keep open lines of communication with your child's teachers to stay informed about their progress and any areas where they may need extra support.
By implementing these strategies, you can help your elementary student stay focused and finish the school year strong! Together, let's support our young learners in reaching their academic goals. 🌟
🚨 We Need You! Consider joining our Watch DOGS Program at CS! 🚨
***We would like to keep this program running next year! If you have any interest, please reach out to Mrs. Romano! ***
Our PBIS Tier 1 Team has been looking at data all year and coming up with ideas to help support our students, especially during lunch and recess time. An idea had come up about a program called Watch Dogs (Dudes of Great Students). This is a nationwide program that schools can push into their buildings where we ask for male role models to sign up and commit to a day of the week/time to come into our building to interact with our students. If you have questions, please reach out to Mrs. Romano at (630) 588-5400.
⚽🏀 Field Day Fun ⚽🏀
Thank you to Mr. Gallina and all of our parent volunteers! 😊
