Thank you to all the families who joined us this week for our fall version of Parent-Teacher-Student conferences. It is always such a pleasure to chat with our families face-to-face and celebrate the growth and achievements of our students. These moments allow us to strengthen the partnership between home and school, and we truly value your time and support.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting events on the horizon! Our SAM Spirit Assembly is just around the corner, where we will gather as a school community to celebrate our students achievements and upcoming events. Following that, we will dive into the fun of our classroom Halloween celebrations. We know the students are looking forward to showcasing their costumes and enjoying the festivities. When choosing a costume keep in mind that they will need to come to school in the morning already dressed and that the costume should be comfortable to sit in and warm enough to go outside for recess. Please refrain from choosing overly frightening costumes and leave any toy weapons at home.
As the seasons begin to change, we are noticing the weather shifting from a "cozy fall" to a "crisp winter" feel. We kindly remind families to ensure students are dressed warmly, with layers and outdoor gear, so they are prepared for our outdoor activities. In most circumstances, we will continue to have outdoor recess and physical activity time, as we know how important fresh air and movement are for our students’ well-being.
Thank you again for your ongoing support and engagement in our school community. We look forward to the upcoming winter season!

Congratulations to Mr. Paulus!
A HUGE congratulations to Mr. Paulus, our Soccer Academy Director, who just had his 100th win as Head Coach of the Men's Soccer NAIT Ooks Team. His team is playing in the ACAC provincial championships with weekend in Grande Prairie and we wish him all the best!
SAMily in the Armed Forces
As part of our Remembrance Day ceremony, we would like to recognize family members that have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Names of family members will be displayed during our assembly, and students will be invited to recognize their family members by adding a poppy or a dove to a display.
Please fill out one form per family, and list any additional siblings in the comments to ensure that all of your children have the opportunity to honour their family members in this special way. Thank you for completing this form by Wednesday, October 30th.
Remembrance Day Assembly
Please join us on Friday, November 8th at 10:30am as our SAM community pays our respects and expresses our gratitude to the brave men and women who have made unimaginable sacrifices for our freedom and peace. Each year it is important that we come together to remember and commemorate the courage and selflessness of those who served, and those who continue to serve, in our armed forces and peace keeping missions. Together, let us reflect on the sacrifices of the past and on the responsibilities of the present and future. Let us honour the memories of those who served by working towards a world of peace, freedom, kindness, and unity.
💡 Parent Feedback Opportunity
Each year, we seek feedback from our stakeholders on our four-year education plan. This year, parents and guardians were invited to participate in small group discussions during the School Council meeting to share their insights.
If you haven’t had the chance to share your feedback yet, we encourage you to review the questions discussed during the October School Council Meeting and share your thoughts and reflections with us.

Food Delivery Services
Unfortunately, our office staff does not have the ability to manage external food delivery services (i.e. Skip The Dishes) and/or the accuracy of those food deliveries. When students forget their lunch, we will contact their family and have someone drop their lunch off at the front office. In the rare case where this is not possible for a family, we are able to provide the student with some light, healthy food options courtesy of our Food Nutrition Grant.

Holiday Card Artwork Contest
It’s that time of year again when the Board of Trustees chooses the design for their holiday card – and we encourage all division students to enter their own original artwork for consideration.
Students of all ages are invited to submit a drawing of a Christmas/holiday scene. One submission will be chosen and then reproduced on this year’s cards. Please note: this is not a class project – artwork should be done at home and submitted to the school (SAM main office).
Click here for more details for the Holiday card contest.
Neutral Ground
Neutral Ground is hosting a free Halloween Special event at the St. Albert Centre Mall from 11am - 4pm on October 27th.
