Happy New Year Mustang Families!
Welcome to 2024! I hope you all are having a restful and relaxing winter break, and enjoying time with friends and family.
While it's been relatively mild since winter made its appearance, we all know that wintry weather lies ahead. Please make sure that your children are prepared for outdoor recess. Unless there is inclement weather or the windchill is dangerously cold to children, all students go outside. We do not allow students to remain inside unless there is a note from a doctor. We simply don't have the staff to supervise a large number of students who would remain inside. Notes from a physician must also indicate the number of days remaining inside is recommended. We also recommend that students have spare mittens, hats, and scarves that could be left at school. Our health office doesn't keep a great deal of spare clothing. You're welcome to send in spare clothing if you have a "snow angel." :) Please make sure your child's name is clearly written on all winter clothing.
I'd like for all of you to please take a moment to make sure we have updated emergency numbers and information should there be an emergency at school. Ms. Loretta, our health aide, or Ms. Sarah, our nurse, often call those people on your emergency list when they cannot reach a parent/guardian. Thank you for your help on this! You may send any updates to our attendance email: maryfrankattendance@phm.k12.in.us. In the subject line, please put your child's name with the phrase "emergency information update."
For our 1st and 2nd grade families...please be watching for a letter from Mr. Poff regarding the upcoming Winter Concert for your students. It is scheduled on January 23rd (1st grade - 6pm; 2nd grade - 7pm).

As part of the Indiana law HB-1093, schools are limited to three days of eLearning. Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation will use, if warranted, three weather-related days as needed throughout the year. If additional makeup days are required, they will be added to the end of the school year calendar beginning on June 3, 2024. Parents will be sent any eLearning expectations and possible calendar adjustments throughout the year. Below is a link to a letter from Dr. Short, our Assistant Superintendent, and graphics regarding finding student assignments on eLearning days.

We would love to see our Mustangs having fun over break - remember to “Smile & Share”! These pictures can include anything from sports to just hanging out with multiple Mustangs. If you play on a team with other Mary Frank students or hang out with Mary Frank friends, snap a group pic together!
