News From the Principal
The end of the year is approaching quickly, and we have been busy at Txuj Ci! Gardens have been planted, students have been practicing for our Hmong American Day Celebration, field trips have students exploring the outdoors, and our eighth graders have been getting ready for a new chapter. I have enjoyed the past few months, and I have had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Thao-Yang as she prepares to lead Txuj Ci! I wish you all the best!

Volunteers Needed: Sports Festival
The Txuj Ci Sports Festival will take place on June 6, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We need adult volunteers to help with this special event. Scan the QR code or click this link to learn more and sign up today.
8th Grade Families
It's an extra special year at TCUC as our inaugural class leaves middle school and continues to pursue their dreams and shape the future as freshmen in high school. Families of 8th graders can use the link to share well wishes for their student or scan the QR code on the flyer.
Safe Drop Off Reminder
Please park on Ross Street when dropping off your children. We need to have enough spaces for buses in other areas. Do NOT drop your child off across the street; there aren’t enough staff to patrol and make sure students are safe when crossing the street.
FREE Summer Fun and Learning
Whether your student enjoys art, STEM, languages and culture, outdoor activities, or a little bit of everything, we have a wide variety of programs for students who are currently in grades K-8. Students in all programs will learn new things and strengthen current academic skills and prepare for the upcoming school year through active, fun and hands-on activities. Learn more about these free SPPS programs, including how to register.

A Minnesota Delicacy
After studying the ways Minnesota's people and industries helped the Allies win World War Two, students got the chance to try some Spam. This simple can of spiced pork and ham made a difference to our military because it was easy to ship and stayed fresh. Although some students were leery of giving it a try, others came back for seconds and even thirds! Spam is quite popular in Hawaii, and there's even a Spam recipe contest at our state fair. A few students made connections and said Spam is best with rice or wrapped in seaweed.

Celebrate Minnesota American Indian Month. Visit the Minneapolis American Indian Center’s website for a calendar of activities including the MAIC 50-Year Anniversary Open House & Powwow. On May 30, they will be celebrating 50 years of community and culture. This is a free event that is open to all! Doors open at 5:00 PM with the Grand Entry starting at 6:00 PM.
Looking Back at the Year
"Whoa! Cool! So fun! Skib! Slay! and Wow!!!!!" were just some of the expressions of amazement from 6th graders as they toured the Minnesota History Center. This place is a gem for hands on learning and engagement. Whole families can get in for FREE on Thursday evenings from 4:00-8:00 PM. 6th graders can get in for FREE anytime with their MN History Pass until August 31, 2025. There are many diverse and exciting events on the MNHC calendar, too.
