Fall Fundraiser Kick-Off
This past week we kicked off our Fall Donation Fundraiser for the Booster Club. This is our primary fundraiser that allows us to do MANY awesome things for the students. The following list contains just a few of the many things our boosters were able to do for our students as a result of last year's successful fundraiser:
- Provide 6 scholarships to All-State Camps
- Provide private voice lessons for several students
- Assist with Choir Fees
- Sponsor several social events including the Fall Festival and holiday game night
- Organize and sponsor last year's choir banquet for our students
- Lower the cost of the choir banquet tickets for all students who wished to attend
- Provide meals for students who advanced to the Region Weekend
- Provide meals for students during both Pre-UIL and UIL Contest
- Provide meals and/or snacks for students who need to stay after school on concert days
- Assist with providing costumes, props, and design elements for Pop Show.
- Cover accompanist costs when the district budget is not able to.
- Provide instrumentalists to enhance concerts and UIL performances.
As you can see, our priority is to ensure that our fundraiser money goes to help our students in any way possible.
We are doing a FANTASTIC job so far with the fundraiser! If you are able to continute to provide contacts for your student, or encourage your student to at least TRY and send out donation requests (we have quite a few students who have not yet tried), it would be most appreciated as funds raised benefit ALL students!
Our total below is as of Friday at 12:50 pm. This is FANTASTIC and I'm so appreciative of everyone who has donated and/or helped your child reach out to potential donors!
Fall Festival
We do need a bit of help in order to make this event successful for our students:
- Volunteers: We need a few parents to assist serving food and be present for the event. It's an easy job and I appreciate additional adult presence! If you are available, please send me an email.
- Candy for games: If you are able to donate a bag of candy, we would greatly appreciate it! We use candy as the prizes for each of our different game stations.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email!
Schoology Assignments
This is just a friendly reminder that ALL classes had an assignment due in Schoology today. A gentle reminder that the choir grading policy states that assignments will be accepted up to one week late, but then will no longer be accepted. Please check in with your student and encourage them to complete this and future Schoology assignments on time so that they do not fall behind.
Region Clinic & Concert
For the students who earned a spot at Region Weekend, the itinerary is below:
Friday, November 8th
- 9:00 am: Leave campus for George Ranch HS.
- Rehearsal will take place at GRHS until 5:00 pm, lunch will be provided for THS students.
- 5:30 pm: Arrive back at THS
Saturday, November 9th
- 7:15 am: Meet at THS and depart for George Ranch HS
- ALL Day rehearsal. Lunch will be provided for THS students.
- 5:30 pm: Region Concert.
- Please note that transportation will NOT be provided after the Region Concert. All students will need to be picked up from GRHS at the conclusion of the concert.
Join our Choir Booster Club!
Our Choir Parent Booster Club operates to help support and assist the choir program in many ways! We have regular meetings to help plan events, discuss volunteer needs, and discuss financial needs of the choir program. You can be as involved as you would like to be! To encourage membership, the board has waived all membership fees this year in hopes that you will join us and find out ways you can support your child in their musical journey as a member of the Travis Tiger Choir!
THANK YOU to our generous Tiger Choir sponsors!
Thank you to everyone who has been purchasing items from our Amazon Wishlist to help "clear the list!" If you are able to browse our list and help purchase an item, we would be SO grateful for your support!

Voice Lessons
This year we are thrilled to add another private voice teacher to our staff and extend a warm welcome to Mr. Antoine Griggs. Mr. Griggs is an accomplished performer who regularly sings with various organizations in Houston, including the Houston Ebony Opera Guild and Houston Grand Opera! He came to campus a couple weeks ago to meet the students and began lessons last week. He still has a few spots open. If your child is interested, or if you have any specific questions please feel free to reach out to him at antoinegriggs@gmail.com. We are very fortunate in Fort Bend that lessons are taught during student's choir class time so no additional rehearsal time is necessary and I hope that many students will take advantage of this awesome opportunity!
