The Library will have the following hours for the holidays:

Closing at 1:00pm Tuesday, December 24. Closed all day Wednesday, December 25.

Closing at 1:00pm Tuesday, December 31. Closed all day Wednesday, January 1.

Pembroke Public Library December 2024

Storytime

Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30am

Toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, and a story that encourages language development and social skills. Each storytime is followed by a craft. We will not be hosting Storytime on December 23 - 24 or December 30 - 31.

Baby Lapsit

Thursdays at 10:30am

Babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months and their caregivers can enjoy stretches, songs, and rhymes followed by an open play time that allows babies to play and grown-ups to chat. We will not be hosting Baby Lapsit on December 26 or January 2.

LEGO Club

Tuesday, December 10 from 4:00-5:00pm

Kids ages 4+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring neighbors, big siblings, and school friends and get creative. This month's theme is Lights and Laughter.

Gingerbread House Painting (For Families)

Wednesday, December 11 from 4:00-5:00pm

All ages (youth + family members) can join us in turning terra cotta pots into miniature gingerbread houses! Paint, brushes, and other supplies will be provided. This event involves acrylic paint so please wear clothing that can get messy. Sign ups are now open and will close December 10 at 8PM. Anime Club

Thursday, December 12 from 4:15-5:45pm

Ages 11 - 15 are invited to watch anime, snack, craft and socialize. This month attendees will enjoy the start of the Sailor Moon series (TV-PG) and craft with perler beads

Chess Club

Wednesday, December 18 from 4:00-5:00pm

Youth and families can learn and play chess at the Library.

Puppy Dog Tales

Thursday, December 19 from 4:15-5:00pm

Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem.

Pembroke Tree Lighting

Saturday, December 7th!

This year's Tree Lighting is back at the Town Green with some activities taking place in our new Community Center! We're so excited to kick off the holidays with you in this special place! Golden Ticket Contest

The Golden Ticket contest starts tomorrow! From now until December 2, kids are welcome to bring non-perishable food items to donation bins in the elementary schools or at KKeegan Realty to enter to win a Golden Ticket and ride with Santa on a fire truck to the Pembroke Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 7!

Winners will get to ride with Santa to the Town Green on a fire truck with full sirens and get a front row seat as Santa uses his magic to light the holiday trees! Details on our website: https://www.pembroketreelighting.com/goldenticket

Food Donations

Just a reminder that we collect the bins and tickets on Monday, December 2, so please be sure to get your donations and your tickets in as quickly as possible! Bins are in the three elementary schools and at KKeegan Realty (290 Center Street). Help us help our friends in need this holiday season! All donations go to the Pembroke Firehouse Food Pantry!

Snowman Contest

Just a few days left to pick up a snowman to decorate for the Snowman Village at the Pembroke Tree Lighting! Snowmen can be picked up at KKeegan Realty (290 Center Street). To enter the Snowman Decorating contest, decorated snowmen must be dropped off at the Community Center on Friday, December 6 before 10am and 4pm. What snowman will you bring to life?!

Footloose the Musical

The Pembroke High School Thespian Troupe #7127 proudly presents Footloose, the musical

The Pembroke High School Thespian Troupe #7127 proudly presents Footloose, the musical. Footloose is a 1998 musical based on the 1984 film of the same name. The music is by Tom Snow (among others), the lyrics by Dean Pitchford (with additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins), and the book by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. The 36 member cast has been rehearsing the show since early September and will present three performances in the Randall Auditorium at PHS. The show is under the direction of PHS Alumnae Emma Murphy and Emily MacFarlane.

Saturday, December 7th @ 2:00 PM

Tickets for the show can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling the music department at 781-293-9281 X2128. General admission ticket prices are $10.00 for students and senior citizens and $15.00 for adults. Priority seating tickets are $20.00 each and there will be a limited number of priority seats available for each performance. Priority seating will take place 30 minutes prior to showtime before the general admission ticket holders are seated. The musical subject content is suitable for all ages. We hope to see you there!
