Message from the CAMP Team
The staff is so happy to once again see your faces back on campus with us! Even if they're halfway covered with your masks. :) We hope that you were able to enjoy your summer and are ready to take on a new academic year. As you know, there are a lot of changes to campus this semester but we are doing everything we can to ensure that we are still able to stay in contact with all of you.
We do have some guidelines that we are enforcing for the semester. When visiting the office, you first have to get your temperature checked at the front desk. Anybody with a measured temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) will not be able to stay and will be recommended to seek medical support or stay home.
We are also limiting our lounge area to 3 people MAX, any person exceeding this capacity will, unfortunately, be asked to leave. It's incredibly difficult for us to not have you enjoy your space in our office but we want to ensure that we are following safety guidelines.
The CAMP staff would also like to share that we temporarily have Carlos Vazquez, CAMP Alumnus, working for us as our Retention Assistant. He has been helping us with our new cohort and event planning and are happy to have him as part of the team!
Below are events and opportunities we encourage you all to attend and engage in.
And as always, Echenle Ganas!

Thank you CAMP Leaders!
Our amazing CAMP Leaders were able to help us put on a clean, socially-distant, orientation for our 2020-2021 Cohort. They were incredible throughout the process and we are extremely thankful to have such great former CAMP Scholars support us amidst all the challenges.

2020 Women's Leadership Conference
Ericka Huggins to provide keynote on resilience for 2020 Women’s Leadership Conference
Ericka Huggins, a human rights activist, poet, educator, Black Panther leader, and former political prisoner, will provide a virtual keynote presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at noon. This event is free and open to the public. Register at the link below.
Huggins’ keynote, How Do We Foster Resilience?, will discuss the traumatic effect that current events, including the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing racial violence, have had on our communities, and in particular on communities of color. Huggins will share insights on how radical self-care, or prioritizing the health of our minds, bodies, and spirits, can help us build resilience in times of change and uncertainty. A Q&A will follow the keynote.
