Hola Tigres!
Last Friday, we celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Georgia Brown with our Tigers. We shared part of his "I Have a Dream" speech during our morning announcements and held a lunchtime coloring contest in remembrance of Dr. King.
I hope that you and your family enjoy this three-day weekend. I am grateful for all of Martin Luther King Jr.'s contributions and for the great diversity and talents within our school community.
2024-2025 GBDI Safe School Needs Assessment
Every year, we collect valuable information from our families and staff to help us develop the Comprehensive School Safety Plan. Your participation is crucial in ensuring that we create a plan that effectively meets our students' needs.
We appreciate your time and effort in completing the survey. Your insights make a significant difference in our planning process.
New Doorbell System
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support in making our school a safe and welcoming environment for our students and their families.
I’d like to inform you that we have installed a new doorbell system at the front office door. This system can be used upon arrival at the school. If our front office staff is away from their desks, please do not hesitate to call the office for assistance. Please keep in mind that we do have locked campus during the school day.
We are very excited about this enhancement to our school's security and accessibility.
Career Day
Georgia Brown Dual Immersion will be celebrating our annual Career Day, Thursday, February 6, 2025. On this day we are celebrating our community. I would like to invite you to come to our school and share your career with our classrooms.
We have reserved the morning from 8:15 am-12:00 pm to have community members, parents and grandparents present to our students. Each session is approximately 20 minutes. We have 23 classrooms full of students that are ready to listen and learn about the exciting careers in our community.
Topics to focus on:
Your educational or career path
Did you have any struggles to overcome?
Describe your job and show supplies/materials
How often do you speak Spanish, or do you have the need to speak Spanish?
Any advice for students.
You are welcome to indicate a particular classroom or grade level to read to. Feel free to bring materials and or uniform.
If you are interested in presenting for our Career day, please contact Mrs. Cagliero by email tcagliero@pasoschools.org with the time that works best for you.

As a reminder, it is required that you upload your ID and TB results (TB tests are valid for 4 years). Additionally, fingerprints are required for participation in field trips and if you plan to volunteer in the classroom for 20 hours or more during the school year.
Once approved, the district office will contact you with instructions for picking up the paperwork needed for your fingerprints. Please do not call the DO, they will contact you.
