Congratulations!
On April 19, three representatives from Springfield High School participated in the state cabinetmaking finals in Albany. In the photo from left to right, Jeremiah Tabor, Alivia Steers, and Avorie Schneider worked from 7:15 a.m. until 2:45 p.m., constructing a cabinet project they had never seen before. They had to work independently, work only from plans, and use a limited amount of material.
Jeremiah earned 4th place.
The Springfield High School SkillsUSA chapter also earned a chapter quality award for their hard work.

FOOD BOXES
Everyone Deserves to Eat.
Food is a Basic Human Right.
Life can be hard, and let’s face it, food is expensive. Food help is available to all families at SHS in recognition that people of all income brackets can struggle to put food on the table.
SHS is committed to making sure that all of our students’ basic needs are met, without judgment. Our programs are designed to improve the ability of our community members to maintain an adequate supply of wholesome, nutritious food in the home. Let us help you!
What we are not:
We are not a supplier of limited food benefits that are intended for the very poor.
What we are:
We are a partner agency to Food For Lane County, a nonprofit food bank that solicits, collects, rescues, grows, prepares and packages food for distribution through a network of community programs (like SHS!)
Through this partnership, we provide a supplemental food program that promotes healthy food choices for everybody, particularly when they are in need of extra assistance. No one is more or less deserving. There is no cap on food availability, and we will not run out of food.
What we offer:
Family Food Boxes: Custom food boxes are available to any SHS family. Boxes include dry and canned goods as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Order a box using an easy, online form as often as once a week, once a month, or whenever you need it. You choose the items that go in your box. Pickup is from the main office on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 2-3:30. Delivery is also available with prior arrangement.
Complete a short one-time registration here: bit.ly/SHSfoodboxregistration1
Once you complete the registration, you will receive a new link to the food box order form. That’s it!
Weekend Pantry Packs: These are food backpacks for students to take home over the weekend when school meals are unavailable. The foods are easy to prepare and convenient. Students order their backpack online and choose their items. Pickup is in the Resource Room on Fridays after school. Students can order their backpacks here: bit.ly/SHSPantry
Emergency Food Boxes: Unexpectedly short on food? Stop by the main office and ask for a Grab and Go Box! Each box is pre-made and contains a mix of shelf-stable foods, ranging from rice and peanut butter to cereal and tuna. All we need is your name and the name of your SHS student (for record-keeping purposes only). Boxes are available from the main office between 7:30-4 Monday through Friday. (En español: pregunte para Cajas de Comida para Llevar)
GOT CLOTHING?
Please donate to our SHS free thrift clothing boutique! Drop off at the main office any time, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00 pm. We accept any clothing that is clean and in good condition.
