Hawk Highlights
April 24 2024
From our Assistant Principal
Dear Friends and Families of the Hollys,
As we SOAR into the last month of school, we are reminding students to follow Holly Hawk expectations which include, Safety, Open-Heartedness, Achievement, and Resilience. Below is the matrix we share with students to review expectations. The safety of our students is a top priority and we revisit these expectations throughout the year and meet with our recess paraeducators to ensure protocols are in place.
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are finished with CMAS testing! They worked hard and persevered every day. Please congratulate them on a job well done. We were off our routine so this week has been a great way to reset and get back on our typical schedule.
We are excited for the Night of the Arts tomorrow night (4/25) at Holly Hills where we will celebrate our Holly Hawk artists and our Holly Hills choir. See you there! Doors open at 4:30 and the concert begins at 6:00 pm.
As we look towards next school year we want to remind you that Mrs. Drvenkar will share a presentation highlighting plans for the 2024-25 school year at our accountability meeting on Tuesday, May 7 at 4:00pm at Holly Ridge Primary. All are welcome! We will follow up with a written summary in our May newsletter. Be sure to check out our innovative plans for the upcoming school year.

Kindergarten Orientation for the 24/25 School Year
Dear Future Kindergarten Families,
Each year Holly Ridge has a kindergarten orientation meeting in the spring to welcome our incoming kindergarten students and families. We will welcome kindergarten families on Wednesday, May 1st at 6:00pm. Our principal, Molly Drvenkar, does a general welcome in the gym, introduces staff, and explains the flow of the evening. Families will rotate through 3 kindergarten classrooms where teachers and support staff members will present on social-emotional well-being, kindergarten preparedness, and a day in the life of a kindergartener. There will be tables set up for parents to visit on the way out to explore other topics of interest. There will be an Arabic and a Spanish interpreter to help answer any questions. Kindergarten teachers and school staff are looking forward to meeting you on May 1st!

Help Thank Teachers During National Teacher Appreciation Week
Please help CCSD thank teachers during national Teacher Appreciation Week!
You are invited to join our school and the entire Cherry Creek School District to say “Thank you, Teachers!” during national Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6-10. During this nationwide celebration, students, parents, and communities across the country will show their gratitude to the educators who help our children learn, grow, achieve, and succeed.
The Cherry Creek School District invites you to show your support for our teachers by taking a photo of your student holding a thank you sign or message, or recording a short video of them thanking their teacher or describing what’s special about their teacher. Then upload your photo or video by April 30 to https://forms.gle/tX3kTG4YX2APu4189. (If you have any trouble with the Google form, please email your photo or video to news@cherrycreekschools.org.) CCSD will share the photos and videos on the CCSD Facebook and Instagram pages during Teacher Appreciation Week.
You can also nominate a teacher for the chance to throw out the first pitch at the May 10 Colorado Rockies vs. the Texas Rangers game at Coors Field! The selected teacher will also receive five free tickets to the game. Submit your nomination here by April 26. The “Teacher First Pitch Event” is sponsored by Westerra Credit Union and the Colorado Rockies.

Important Information for Bus Riders
Dear CCSD parents/guardians:
There is a new and improved transportation app for families called My Ride K-12 that provides information about your child’s bus route. This My Ride K-12 app replaces the Ride360 app, which will be phased out on May 1.
To ensure continued access to information about your child’s bus route, please download the new My Ride K-12 app from your favorite app store and log in to your child’s account. The Ride360 app will no longer be available starting May 1. You can log in with your existing Ride360 user name and password.
IMPORTANT: To continue having access to real time information about your child’s bus route, you must download the new My Ride K-12 app before the Ride360 app goes away May 1.
You can download it here:
The new My Ride K-12 app has improved usability and more modern technology that will give families access to critical information, including estimated times of arrival and departure for your child’s bus.
Last year, CCSD launched a new transportation program with RFID cards for bus riders. The program was designed to increase safety, parent communication and bus route efficiency. The new My Ride K-12 app is an important and helpful tool for families whose students use bus transportation.

For other questions, please contact Teresa Peterson at tpeterson4@cherrycreekschools.org and 720-554-4647.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to continue providing safe and reliable bus transportation for your child.
Thank you,
Gary Thompson Director of Transportation
Cherry Creek School District
