Roy Johnson STEM Teacher Tribune
7th Edition: Week of September 23, 2024
Thank You, Superheroes!
Second Six Weeks Starts Today!
Reminders:
* Be present and on-time to duties before school, during transitions, and after school. It is important to our building safety for all adults to be in places assigned.
* Grades should be up-to-date and follow our EISD grading guidelines. Be sure to make parent contacts by phone for failures, poor attendance, praises, and document communication.
* Attendance should be taken daily every period. Please physically call each student's name to mark the attendance in the system. It is important that the attendance of each student is coded correctly. Students not on Skyward attendance rosters should not be in your class.
Please remember all outfits should be in EISD Dress Code for faculty/staff and students.
If you have pictures of neat things going on in your classroom, then email them to AP McNease to share on our social media accounts. Be sure to include description of activity/lesson/event and student names. Student names will not be posted in full ever, but they are needed to ensure that the student is allowed to have picture posted to our school accounts.
Thank you for all your hard work, dedication, and time devoted to inspiring our Bulldog students. YOU are a valuable part of the Roy Johnson STEM Academy! #EISDALLIN
Login Credentials - District Reminder
Dear Staff,
It has come to my attention that we have already had three instances where login credentials were shared with students, compromising the security of our systems. Additionally, we’ve learned that students have been asking teachers for their credentials, and in some cases, teachers have provided them.
This is unacceptable. Under no circumstances should you share your login information with anyone, including students. Doing so not only violates district policy but also puts our entire network at risk as well as systems which utilize these credentials (eg. Skyward).
Additionally, using student credentials to bypass security measures such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a violation of district policy. This practice is not acceptable under any circumstances. MFA is in place for a reason, and avoiding it puts our systems and data at significant risk.
Moving forward, please ensure that your credentials remain secure and never shared with students or staff. Any further violations may result in disciplinary action.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

Referrals
Referrals
Before sending a discipline referral form on a student to the office, except for fighting, smoking, threatening language, and other major violations, each staff member is required to contact the parent, document it, and try to get the parent’s help in solving the problem. Documentation of parent contact should be done in the Parent Contact Log that is shared with the designated administrator. Discipline referrals should note the date of the parent contact. Administrators should not be the first contact with a parent regarding discipline. Remember to address specific behaviors. Avoid using vague, labeling language, negative language or blanket statements such as: he/she always, he/she never, bully, he/she can’t, his/her attitude, etc.
ISS Reminders for School Work - Paper Only
Lessons completed in ISS will be given the same grade weight as if completed in the regular classroom. Lessons should cover the same TEKS based standards to prevent content-area gaps in knowledge. The facilitator will allow students to complete his/her class lessons and provide pre-planned assignments related to helping students make wise choices. If a student is absent or fails to complete his/her assigned ISS, the student may continue ISS on the day the student returns to school. A student who exhibits inappropriate behavior in ISS will have consequences decided by the Principal or Assistant Principal, such as; extended time in ISS, off campus suspension, or other student code of conduct consequences.
