I hope you are enjoying your first week of summer! We already miss you! It is just too quiet in the school without all the childrens' voices.
The Durham Office Team is working hard to close things up for the school year. The office will remain open through Thursday, June 27th during normal hours of 8:00-4:00. Teachers are busy moving classrooms and getting things organized for the next school year. We are all excited for your return in the fall!
May you have a summer full of rest and rejuvenation. Please plan to join us at our Durham Supply Night during the last week of August. You will be able to meet your teacher and bring in supplies for the school year. More details to come toward the end of summer.
In case you haven't yet heard the news, I would like to introduce you to our new Associate Principal. Please read below!

Durham Staff and Community,
I am pleased to announce that we have hired Lisa Fetherston as Associate Principal for Durham Elementary School. Lisa is coming to us from Tualatin Elementary School where she has served as the Dean for three years. Fetherston has been with the Tigard-Tualatin School District for over 22 years serving in a variety of roles.
Fetherston began her teaching career with Portland Public Schools in 1995, teaching both primary and intermediate grade levels. She joined TTSD in 2001 as a TOSA for Curriculum and Instruction. In 2003, Fetherston moved into a counseling role at Fowler Middle School for five years. She also worked as an Adjunct Professor for Concordia University from 2002 to 2003, teaching an educational psychology class. “I am excited to begin this new role and be a part of the Durham community. I believe in using data to drive decisions while building relationships with an equity-driven lens helping to foster relationships with everyone who is a part of our school community. I believe in using the principles of Positive Behavior Supports and Multi-Tiered System of Supports as instruments in fostering a healthy and effective school system where all students can be nurtured and thrive. I look forward to meeting and getting to know staff, students and families this coming school year.”
Fetherston holds a BA in Human Development and a minor in Sociology from Boston College. She also holds a Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from Oregon State University. Fetherston received her Administrative License from Portland State University.
