Happy New Year to all of our parents. We only have one week until we finish our 2nd marking period. Again, staff emails have been attached at the bottom of this newsletter if you need to contact any of us. Our students will begin their 2nd round of NWEA testing on January 21st. Let it snow!!!

In December, our students enjoyed a friendly competition of Penny Wars to support the Kiwanis Christmas Basket Program. Our winners in the 8th grade were Belleau and Wangler in the 7th grade. Those seminar classes have earned pizza parties. In addition to 1,123 canned goods/food items, a donation of $650 was made with the cash and coins collected by the students. Thank you to all that participated!!

The Gaylord Blue Devil Wellness Center sees students for physicals, sick visits, injuries, vaccines, and counseling services.

As always, the GBDWC will see anyone ages 10-21 with no out-of-pocket cost. If you have insurance, we do bill for services but there are no co-pays. We accept most insurances, including Medicaid. If you do not have insurance, services are available at no cost, and we have staff who can assist you in obtaining health insurance.

Students arriving to school late must sign in at the office before reporting to class. Parents or guardians can excuse their child's tardiness by phone or by note. Students not excused by a parent or guardian will receive an unexcused tardy.

Students leaving before the end of the school day will only be released to a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians must notify the office, in writing or by phone, whenever a student is to be released to someone other than themselves.

Parent Portal is a great way to keep up-to-date on your student's grades and attendance. To access parent portal use: Gaylord.powerschool.com. For login credentials, please contact the office.

• June 6th (tentative) - Last day (half day)
