- Ginger grew up living in many different countries: Mexico, Switzerland, Arizona, Costa Rica, and Virginia.
- Reading was very important to her family and they took their books where ever they went.
- She learned to speak Spanish at a very young age.
- She was a first grade teacher when she became inspired by her students' love for a good story, which is why she began writing her own books.
- Because of her background in Spanish she wrote her books in both Spanish and English to help children to read and speak in another language.
