Classroom Happenings
Science Classrooms
Today, our science team transformed the halls into Jurassic Park to give students an unforgettable Halloween experience. Biology students took on the challenge of solving a high-stakes mystery: discovering who stole the dinosaur embryos from our lab! In this hands-on investigation, students hunted for DNA and RNA codes hidden around the school, then worked together to decode the sequences and identify the suspect. The twist? Some amino acid sequences were identical, so students had to rely on careful analysis, learning that even small DNA changes can make a big difference.
This activity not only brought our school community together in a unique and interactive way, but it also deepened students’ understanding of protein synthesis in a fun, memorable setting. It’s amazing to see how learning and fun come alive in the classroom!
Aledo FFA
The Tarleton LDE contest was a fantastic opportunity for our students to practice and showcase their public speaking skills! We had over 50 students participate, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication. Tarleton is still posting results, so stay tuned for updates!
Don’t forget!! The LDE Showcase is coming up this Monday, November 4th, at 7 PM! Bring your friends, family, or anyone who wants to support these students who have been working so hard!

Cross Country
What a tremendous way to end our Cross Country Season! Our boys team placed a strong 12th, which was a big improvement over their finish just 1 year ago. Our girls team once again found themselves on the podium at State, finishing in 3rd place overall. I am so very proud of all our runners. The work that they put in on a daily basis is unbelievable, and it has certainly paid dividends throughout the season. Also, a big thanks to all of our parents, as well as our booster club for making this season run so smoothly. As a reminder, we have streamlined absence reporting for all of our campuses for this school year. It is very important that we have documented reasons for absences so that we can ensure your student is given an excused absence when needed.
Please use this form to report your student's absence and upload any documentation. Allow 48 hours for information to be updated in the Ascender system, which will reflect in the Ascender ParentPortal attendance tab. Complete this form for EVERY day that your student is absent.
Attendance Matters
Research consistently shows a strong correlation between student attendance and academic achievement. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to excel academically and achieve higher grades.
In recognition of this, our campus has adjusted the exemption policy to include all high school students. Exemptions are earned through exemplary attendance, grades, and behavior. This change aims to encourage all students to maintain high standards in all areas, reinforcing the importance of consistent school attendance.
