COMMUNICATION FOR THE HES COMMUNITY
π March 2025 π
February may have been a short month, but it was packed with exciting events at HES!
Kindergarten and 5th Grade kicked off the month with celebrations for the 100th and 1000th day of school, featuring lively performances by the 5th graders and creative projects from kindergarteners. Check out the photos below!
We also had another successful SOUPer Bowl of Caring! Thanks to our students, families, and staff, HES collected over 2,100 non-perishable food items for The Chubbyβs Project. The excitement and competition made for a fun week. A special shoutout to our First Grade Team, Fifth Grade Team, and School Counselor, Mrs. LaRose, for their hard work organizing and loading all the donationsβover 2,000 items is no small feat!
A big thank you as well to our Media Center Specialist, Mrs. White, HVEF, and the HES PTO for bringing author and illustrator Matt Phelan to HES last week. It was an incredible experience for our students, and weβre already looking forward to next yearβs author visit!
As we wrap up February, weβre looking ahead to a very busy March, starting with our always anticipated Book Fair. Be sure to read the newsletter for all the exciting events and activities happening at HES this month!

Thank you for supporting your child(ren)βs practice of Honesty during the month of February. Cooperation is working together to reach shared goals. International SEL Day will be celebrated district-wide on March 18th and our focus will be on Cooperation. Students and staff will engage in activities such as buddy art and putting together hygiene kits for The Chubbyβs Project to practice SEL in recognition and celebration of the day. If youβd like to join in on the fun and increase Cooperation in your family, follow this link to take part in our family SEL activities: 2025 Families SEL Day of Cooperation.
