August/September Newsletter 2024
Safe, On-Task, Accountable, Respectful
The 2024-2025 school year is off to a great start!
Dear Evergreen Parents and Community,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving as we kick off the new school year! We are thrilled to have had a fantastic start and a successful first month together. As we embark on this exciting journey, I want to extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning families, students, and staff.
This monthly newsletter is designed to keep you informed about various school events, activities, and important updates. It serves as a communication outlet to ensure that everyone in our community stays connected and engaged with what’s happening at Evergreen.
In this first month, we’ve already accomplished so much! We celebrated the First Day of School, reconnected during Back to School Night, shared ideas and insights at the Principal's Parent Coffee Chat, and set the tone for a positive year with our PBIS Kickoff. Additionally, we continued our commitment to leadership and personal growth through the Leader in Me program.
As we continue through the year, we look forward to many more opportunities to grow, learn, and support one another. Thank you for your continued involvement and dedication to making Evergreen a wonderful place for our students to learn and thrive.

Message from Marisol Lara, President, Evergreen Community Club
Welcome Back Evergreen Families!
We are so happy to see our students return back to school and catch up on their summer vacation.
We are kicking off the school year with our first major fundraiser EDUCATION SUPPORT DRIVE that will begin September 9th to September 20th. Evergreen Community Club’s Education Support Drive is our main fundraiser of the school year because it funds crucial programs such as Evergreen’s STEAM focus, technology such as ChromeBooks, cameras, and classroom monitors. That’s not all, this support drive also funds school activities such as School Assemblies, Field trips, and transportation and so much more. In the next couple of weeks you will receive more information on donation opportunities and donor prizes!!
To celebrate our Education Support Drive, your Community Club will host our first Movie Night of the year. Bring your lawn chair, picnic blankets, and join us on September 27th to watch a movie with your child/children alongside their classmates. Admission is FREE!
Thank you to everyone that was able to attend our first Evergreen Community Club meeting on the 16th. We hope the session was helpful and we encourage you to contribute your ideas, voice, and opinions. If you would like more information about school projects or want information on district changes or updates please join us at our next Evergreen Community Club meeting on September 13th at 8:30am. Leader in Me
The 2024-2025 Student Lighthouse Team is already shining bright!
After meeting over the summer and throughout the first month of school, they are ready to take on the year with enthusiasm and dedication. This amazing group plans to collaborate with our staff to create exciting events and share innovative ideas that will benefit our entire school community.
Their next big step? Promoting action teams to expand student leadership roles across the school. We’re thrilled to see what they’ll accomplish!
Congratulations to our new SLT! #EvergreatClass Mission Statements
What is a Class Mission Statement?
In the Leader in Me program, a class mission statement is a shared promise created by students and their teacher. It helps them imagine what their ideal classroom looks like and think about how they can work together to make it happen. The Leader in Me program is all about helping students learn important life skills and grow as leaders.
The first day of school was nothing short of spectacular!
Our Evergreen team could hardly contain their excitement as we eagerly welcomed back our students and families. The campus buzzed with energy as lively music played, colorful balloons filled the air, and our entire staff lined up to cheer on each student as they walked through the gates.
Students were greeted by a transformed campus, with stunning new murals, vibrant street signs, and so much more, creating an inspiring environment right from the start. The day was truly a celebration of positivity and community spirit.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day unforgettable for our Evergreen students, staff, parents, and community. Together, we set the tone for an incredible year ahead!

Back To School Night
Our Back to School Night was a huge success, with hundreds of parents attending the event. The evening began with a packed MPR as parents gathered for the Principal's welcome presentation. From there, they had the opportunity to visit classrooms and learn directly from our outstanding teachers.
Parents walked away with a clear understanding of our schoolwide expectations, classroom routines, and so much more. We are grateful for the strong partnership we have established with our Evergreen families and look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Exciting News: Evergreen’s Campus Gets a Fresh New Look!
This summer, our campus was buzzing with activity as we added some amazing upgrades! From vibrant new murals and street signs to freshly painted steps, inspiring quotes, pole wraps, and even new chairs—Evergreen is shining brighter than ever.
These updates beautifully reflect our school’s vision of Leadership, as we continue to create leaders, one child at a time. A huge thank you to our incredible Student Lighthouse Team and Community Club for making this possible. We are so grateful for your support!
P.B.I.S. Schoolwide Kickoff!
Our Evergreen P.B.I.S. team held the annual P.B.I.S. Kickoff! 🎉 All students and staff toured the campus and learned about our school-wide expectations. Our beloved mascot “Sparky” made a special appearance, and the energy was electric as everyone cheered and danced to the music. It was a day to remember! A big congratulations to all our students, staff, and the P.B.I.S. team for making this day amazing! #Evergreat 💚✨
