Welcome Back Vikings
Don't forget that students must be wearing a face mask when they arrive at school each day. The school will provide a replacement paper masks for students who may need to replace their mask during the day, but we do not provide a daily face mask for students.

learning in action
End Of The Grading Period is Today
Report cards will go home on Friday, October 16th in Friday folders for our face-to-face students. If your child is a remote learner, his/her report card will be mailed home on October 16th.
Parents of 2nd and 3rd graders...don't forget that you can log into Ascender at anytime to check your child's grades. PK-1st grade parents, you can view your child's attendance through Ascender but not grades, as the report cards are skills-based in these grade levels.
Congratulations to Our Project Vinátta Student Coalition Members
Each year our counselor, Mrs. Sexton, sends out applications to all 3rd grade students with information on how to be a part of Project Vinátta, our student kindness coalition! Vinátta is the Viking term for friendship, and each year we have a goal of becoming a designated No Place for Hate© campus, awarded by the Austin chapter of the National Anti-Defamation League. In order to receive this valued designation, our campus forms a select student coalition group that will help plan and implement three school-wide activities during the school year.
Students who participate in the Project Vinátta Student Coalition should be:
Interested in promoting a positive, respectful, hate-free, bully-free environment/culture at Lago Vista Elementary School;
Role Models that show respect and kindness to their peers and their teachers, and look for ways to include others;
Committed to attending all meetings and contributing as a productive member of the Project Vinátta Student Coalition.
This year's Project Vinátta Student Coalition members are:
Kylie Freeman
Brooklyne Rodriguez
Berkley Parker-Martinez
Cora Larkin
Kooper Kudrna
Brookley Janson
Coen Good
Thank you to these students and Mrs. Sexton for helping to create a positive and respectful environment for all students!
Pumpkin Character Project
We want our remote students to participate too, so be sure to take a picture of your pumpkin character, along with a picture of the book and send to your teacher by October 30th. Your teacher will display the pictures in the hallway on October 30th, so the school can see your pumpkin character too!
We can't wait to see all of the creative pumpkins!
