Counselors will meet with all Brandeis Broncos to select courses for the 2025-2026 school year. The courses Brandeis HS will offer during the 2025-2026 school year are listed below. January 8: Garcia and Stinson MS 8th grade visit to Brandeis, Elective Fair (lunches), Bronco Round-Up & Endorsement Night (including Advanced Academics) 6pm @ Brandeis

January 16: Brandeis counselors at Stinson MS for course selections

January 17: Brandeis counselors at Garcia MS for course selections

January 21-24: 11th Grade Course Selections

January 27-31: 10th Grade Course Selections

February 3-7: 9th grade Course Selections

February 10-14: Senior Conferences

February 21: Course selections letters will be emailed to all students and parents

February 28: Deadline for letters to be returned with any course changes

MCEC is doing a workshop for students who have a military-connected parent who is injured or disabled due to the military service. The workshop is called, Caregiving Youth Student Leadership Program. It is sponsored by the Wounded Warrior Project and will take place in San Antonio from Friday, February 14 – Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Students from all over the U.S. may apply and attend. The Brandeis Counseling Department is dedicated to providing a comprehensive guidance and counseling program addressing the whole child to maximize academic achievement, social and emotional development, and post-secondary college and career readiness. Counselors work to provide students with programs that support the four components of the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs: Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, System Support.

Guidance Curriculum- The guidance curriculum is designed to systematically provide lessons to students that facilitate growth, development, and transferrable skills in the areas of educational, career, personal, and social development.

Responsive Services- The purpose of responsive services is to intervene on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student's continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk. These services include individual counseling, group counseling, teacher/parent consultations, and community referrals.

Individual Planning- The purpose of individual planning is to assist students in developing and addressing academic, career, personal, and social goals. Students need opportunities to understand and monitor their own development considering their individual needs, specialized circumstances or services, and cultural implications.

System Support- The purpose of system support is to support the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students

Brandeis was awarded the Purple Star Designation. The Purple Star Campus Designation recognizes Texas district and charter schools that show their support and commitment to meeting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families. This special honor was created effective April 9, 2020, by the 86th Texas Legislature. We are honored to have received this recognition.
