We are on the final countdown for the 1st semester with only 3.75 days left for students. Keep in mind that Thursday, December 19th, is an early release day and students will be dismissed at 2:00. Shout out to our PTA for an outstanding lunch on Wednesday for Staff and another successful Paws For Fun. All of the volunteer’s time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

I would also like to take this time to remind our Bobcats of some of the behavioral expectations here at BMS. With the end of the Fall semester we have noticed an increase in the behaviors below and if it persists admin may have to begin assigning disciplinary consequences further than the daily verbal reminders because the behavior is not stopping.

• Running in the halls
• Going the wrong direction in the halls during passing period
• Students wearing headphones in the hallway
• Students not wearing IDs (same students having to be told daily multiple times)
• Students cannot wear or carry around blankets during the school day

I also want to clarify that the construction going on behind the main football field near the drop-off/pick-up loop is a cell phone tower.

The historic halls of Barton Middle School was the venue for Hays CISD Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright as he was part of a festive campus-wide Coin of Excellence presentation! On Dec. 11, Dr. Wright presented a Coin of Excellence to Barton Middle School Principal Aaron Loyd for his hard work and dedication to our Bobcat students, staff and community! In fact, Principal Loyd’s positive impact has been so widespread, approximately 17 BMS educators nominated him for a Coin of Excellence!

Getting Logged In for the First Time to Schoology

• Navigate to hayscisd.schoology.com and select “Forgot your password”

• Enter the email associated with your student on the Parent Portal and click “Send My Login Info”

• You will receive an email immediately entitled “How to Change Your Schoology Password”

• Click on the link in the email within 10 minutes to set your new password.
