Bristol Township School District
February 2025
Superintendent's Letter
Dear Bristol Township School Community,
I hope today finds you well as we mark the end of February.
February certainly went faster than January, which at one point seemed like it was January 38th, and hopefully we will see a quick shift to spring-like weather. A quick, friendly reminder that if we do have to navigate any winter weather in March, we have exhausted our two “built-in snow days,” and would have to pivot to a remote learning day. But, as always, follow our communication portals for updates and information.
There were a lot of neat celebrations and positive energy in our schools over the past month. Students visited the African American Cultural & Historical Society of Bucks County for a Black History Month event, we celebrated 100 Days of School, and of course, we got to witness the Philadelphia Eagles march to a Super Bowl championship. You can find articles on these topics, and more, in this month’s newsletter.
Also please note that the Board approved the 2025-2026 school year calendar and changed the date of the March Board meeting to Tuesday, March 18th.
Please enjoy this month's newsletter and all the amazing things being done by our students, staff, alumni and School Board.
Sincerely,
Michael Nitti
Superintendent of Schools

Celebrating BTSD Alums
HBCU Student Spotlight: Divine Marshall
Divine Marshall, a 2023 graduate of Truman High School, currently attends Howard University, a private, historically Black research institution founded in 1867.
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are public and private institutions established before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 in the United States. During slavery and segregation, HBCUs provided Black people with access to education that other schools denied them of.
Marshall’s favorite part of attending Howard is being surrounded by like-minded individuals who he can resonate with. Read more about his experience here.
Alumna Damita Harvey Receives Humanitarian Award
Congratulations to Damita Harvey, the recipient of the Humanitarian Leadership Award, at the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Awards.
Damita is the Associate Director at No Longer Bound Prevention and Training Services and the founder of Bristol Cares. A Truman alumna, Damita is greatly involved in BTSD by creating safe, nurturing environments for children and young adults through her programming. She helps us organize Family Engagement Nights, partners with us for the ROAR Truman Tiger Alumni Award, and much more.
Thank you to Damita for her involvement in our community!
