A Message From Your Principal, Yvette Mendoza

Dear Families,

Now that we have completed the Middle of Year MAP assessments, we are excited to use this valuable data to guide our targeted interventions and address the individual academic needs of each student. To help you better understand how we are using this data to support your child’s learning, we invite you to join us for a MAP Data Session. During this session, we will walk you through how to read your child's MAP report and explain how it informs our approach to differentiated instruction. I will send more information regarding the date and time for this evening session.

Pants/Bottoms Drive

Help Stock the QVE Clinic!


We’re seeking donations of gently used pants, leggings, shorts, or any other bottoms to support our students. All items donated will go to Nurse Merlly, who provides clothing to students in need of a change during the school day.


Donations can be dropped off in the QVE front lobby.

Your contributions will make a big difference—thank you for helping us care for our students!


This drive is sponsored by our NEHS students.

We will be celebrating the 100th & 101st day of school on Wednesday, February 5th and Thursday, February 6th.

National School Counseling Week

National School Counseling Week is from Feb 3-7. We will be celebrating our wonderful Counselor, Mrs. Lindie, on Friday, February 7th. Feel free to send her a token of appreciation.

2nd Grade Field Trip

Our 2nd grade students will be visiting the Houston Children's Museum on February 11th. Please check your student's backpack for permission slips that need to be completed.

Early Release/Parent Conferences

  • Students will be dismissed early at 12:10 PM on Thursday, February 13. Please ensure arrangements are made for timely pick-up.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences will take place after dismissal, and teachers will provide details about their available times and dates. During the conferences, data binders will be reviewed.

No School/Student Holiday

There is No School February 14-17th. Students will return Tuesday, February 18th.

Random Acts of Kindness Week

QVE will be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week from Feb 18th -21st.

Pre-K Field Trip

Our Pre-K students will be visiting the George Ranch Historical Park on February 19th. Please check your student's backpack for permission slips that need to be completed.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 3rd Grade Black History Program has been rescheduled to March 6th.

The Eagle's Nest School Store Needs Volunteers!

The store will be open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:15 AM to 10:15 AM. Volunteers will help students redeem their Eagle Bucks for prizes.
