Rays Update
January 17, 2025
Principal Message
Ray Community,
Happy three-day weekend; we do not have school on Monday.
I wanted to say congratulations to all the students who participated in our Spelling Bee last night. We had 40 students come and spell their hearts out. They all did a wonderful job, and after three hours, the spelling bee ended in a tie. Congratulations to our finalists, Malavika Arun and Ashley Lee.
We would also like to congratulate all students who submitted to the PTA Reflections competition and wish those going to regionals the best of luck.
We had a wonderful week of learning. All students have finished their middle-of-the-year MAP Growth and ISIP assessments for Math and Reading. You should be receiving these scores by the end of the month. To help our community better understand student RIT scores, within MAP Growth, I wanted to share a short video (please see below) and article that explains what the RIT score means.
This week we had principals from other campuses in our feeder come and tour classrooms. We had so much praise for the learning that was occurring and how well our students were doing. They were very impressed with our daily reflection; goal setting and the conversations students were having around their learning. Please be sure to ask your students about their learning each week. Have them go over their daily reflection log with you and discuss their goals for these nine weeks.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
