No winner in Ice Out Contest: but Scientists Use Data
There was some debate on what constitutes Ice Out day. We used the same criteria that the study states and that the Curtis family has used for the last 5 years..(See below).
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Where is Fuzlee today?
Photo prints available from Ralph Fletcher at fletcher17@earthlink.net
I imagine Fuzlee is busy learning valuable social skills, hopefully making friends who may be needed at various times throughout his/her youth. That along with continuing to hone foraging skills.

Lady Merganzers Drift By
Ghost Float: Who does it belong too?
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
William Wordsworth
