BUENA UPDATE May 2024

Greetings Buena Families!

We have less than 4 weeks Bulldogs! But who's counting? This is the time to buckle down and get those grades up!! ❤️

📘Textbook collection for 9th-11th grade students will take place June 3-June 13. Students will keep their Chromebooks for the next school year.

🎓SENIORS! Here are some important messages for you!

~Senior textbook and Chromebook collection will take place on June 10th.

~Senior Awards night is June 5 at 6 pm. This is an invitation only event.

~Grad Night is June 7 @ Universal. (this event is sold out)

~Senior celebration/BBQ will take place on June 10. Please RSVP by June 3.

~Grad Rehearsal is June 11 at 1:30 pm. This is mandatory for seniors!

~Graduation is June 12 at 4 pm. Each student will receive 10 tickets on June 10. On June 3, students can go to Student Services to request more tickets.

🎺Come on out to Buena and check out our final Music Performances of the year! On May 23 our Band and Strings will perform at 6 pm, and on May 30, we will have our Vocal and Jazz Showcase concert at 6pm.

⭐State testing is taking place this week, May 20-24. All Juniors will test in English/ELA classes and in US History classes. Please do your best to attend school on these days so we don't have to pull students for make-up tests.

⭐The first week of May, we celebrated our staff on Education Support Professionals Day, Certificated Employee Day and Day of the Teacher with a breakfast, Jersey Mike's lunch, a goodie cart and hot dogs! It takes a village to run Buena, and we appreciate our awesome staff!

⭐Grad Night was sponsored by our Buena PTO this year, and we would like to give a special shout out to Celina Alonzo, our PTO treasurer, who has put in a lot of work to secure our tickets for our seniors!

🏅Congratulations to Madison Easter who broke two school records in the 100 and 200 meters and was the Channel League champion and All-CIFSS in both events. On Saturday she will be the first Buena athlete in over 10 years to compete at the all State CIF Final in the 100 meters race. Good Luck!

⛳Congratulations to Buena Golfers Adam Anderson (-7, 1st place) and Brady McHenry (-3, 3rd place) who both qualified for the Cal Am Championship! Good Luck!
