Principal's Note
Hello Hidden River Families,
As we enter the last week of Quarter 1, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for attending our Mid Q1 conferences and those unable to attend for reaching out to teachers to connect on your students' progress. Our partnership together goes a long way in supporting student success at school. I am also hoping you had a chance to connect with other parents. Please consider joining us at Welcome Wednesdays once a month, to connect informally with other parents and school staff that can attend! Our next Welcome Wednesday is this week, November 9th from 8:15-9:15am!
Our students had the first Dance/Activity Day on Oct. 28 and a lot of fun community building was had by all. Students also completed the Student Climate Survey and staff along with students will be reviewing the results and working to continue to build on our successes regarding our school climate.
Finally, the End of Quarter 1 is this Friday. Please take time to sit down and review grades with your student on Schoology. Getting missed assignments completed and turned helps to improve their grades. Do not hesitate to email teachers with questions.
Thank you for partnering with us!
Sincerely,
Teresa Vibar

FSO - Fundraising
Early-giving had begun on the GiveMN webpage and we are so thankful to those families who have already contributed. The FSO’s fundraising goal for this year is $15,000 (about $25 per student). Any amount that you are able to contribute helps us greatly. All donations go back into the Hidden River community to support students, staff, and families.
Just one of the classroom requests we hope to fill this year is for music stands. Our musicians deserve sturdy stands to hold their music through rehearsals and concerts and replacing the several dozen stand could cost around $1000 . Can you help us work towards funding that request?
If your family is able to help, donations can be made in a number of ways. You can find us online through the GiveMN donation platform at https://www.givemn.org/organization/Hiddenriver.
If you prefer to write a check, it can be made out and sent to
Hidden River Middle School FSO
1700 Summit Ave
Saint Paul, MN 55105.
We are also able to collect cash, check and credit card donations in person at school events - just look for the FSO table. All donations are tax-deductible. We also appreciate corporate matches and Amazon Smile donations (we are still listed on Amazon as the Ramsey Middle School Parent Teacher Organization).

Attached is a picture of what the chip packaging looks like and a recent news story (linked here) about some of the dangers.
Staff are HRMS are aware of this social media and will intervene, explaining the dangers.

You can receive them multiple ways: via Campus Portal (Parents can access); via email (Counseling staff email to guardians at the end of term); or the Physical Copy of the Grades Report can be sent home with your child. Please click the highlighted area in the link below to indicate how you would like to receive your child’s grades.

Hunger Impact Partners
With our partners, we are working to inform families they can access federal funds through the Child Tax Credit. Deadline is November 15, 2022.
Families with no income or low income could get at least $3,000 per child with the Child Tax Credit, plus $1,400 with the third stimulus payment - even if they have never filed taxes before and if they have not filed taxes this year. It is estimated that more than 33,000 children in Minnesota could miss out on this money if their parent/guardian has not filed.
There is an easy form for people to file on their mobile devices in 15 minutes or less at: getctc.org
