๐ผ Inspire Choir's Holiday Concert ๐
๐ถ More than 100 students from the Inspire Choir brought holiday spirit to Clock Auditorium during the โHolidays & Hot Chocolateโ concert at Redlands High School. โ The event showcased festive favorites like โRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeerโ ๐ฆ and โAll I Want for Christmas is You,โ ๐ spreading cheer to everyone in attendance.
๐ต This annual holiday concert is part of the Inspire Music program, founded by director Cindy Van Horn, which has grown significantly since its start in 2015 at Citrus Valley High School. ๐ค Today, Inspire Music spans 12 school sites and serves over 250 special services students, providing them with the opportunity to learn vocal techniques, explore music theory, and perform together. ๐
Spreading Holiday Cheer for RUSD Families
The Redlands Unified School District recently partnered with Redlands Education Support Professionals Association (RESPA) ๐ค, Family and Community Engagement (FACE) ๐๏ธ, and Child Nutrition Services (CNS) ๐ for the Winter Donation Distribution event. This collaborative effort brought much-needed support and holiday cheer ๐โ๏ธ to families across the district.
The distribution featured an array of essential items and gifts, including snack packs ๐ช, toys ๐, socks ๐งฆ, underwear, and T-shirts ๐. These contributions were made possible through the generosity and dedication of our community and partner organizations, ensuring that families received extra support during the holiday season.
This event is a shining example of how RUSD prioritizes the well-being of its students and families ๐, fostering a sense of community and care. FACE, CNS, and RESPA are proud to work together to make a meaningful impact, especially during the colder months when a little extra help goes a long way.

PBIS Awards
The District is proud to announce that 25 of our schools have been recognized with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) awards ๐ this year, earning distinctions ranging from Bronze ๐ฅ to Platinum ๐ . These awards highlight the outstanding efforts of our schools to create positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for all students. ๐ Let's hear why PBIS matters directly from a few of our principals:
"PBIS helps our students learn positive traits that will support them in school and in the future. It also helps our staff learn about many different strategies and levels of support for our students."
Highland Grove Elementary School Principal Amy Pry. ๐ณ๐
"PBIS creates a proactive environment where expectations are clearly defined, explicitly taught, and consistently reinforced. By focusing on positive behavior, we empower students to make better choices, while creating a culture of respect, responsibility, and safety."
Smiley Elementary School Principal Danita Slaughter. ๐๐ซ
"This recognition aligns with our goals of fostering a safe, welcoming school culture and empowering students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. It reinforces our dedication to continuous improvement and student-centered practices."
Clement Middle School Principal Natalie Johnson. ๐ซโจ
The awardsโBronze ๐ฅ, Silver ๐ฅ, Gold ๐ฅ, and Platinum ๐ โreflect each schoolโs dedication to implementing PBIS with fidelity and achieving meaningful outcomes for students. Schools receiving these awards demonstrate strong systems of support that promote positive behavior, reduce disruptions, and encourage a sense of belonging on campus. ๐โค๏ธ
Congratulations to all 25 schools ๐ for their hard work and commitment to creating a culture where every student can succeed! ๐๐

School Communications
Parent Communication: What to Expect ๐๐
Staying informed is key to a smooth school year (for everyone!). Outlined below are ways the district as well as school sites will communicate with you.
๐ข District Communication
The District will send monthly newsletters, letters from the Superintendent, and updates through ParentSquare containing important information and various action items. You can adjust your notification preferences to digest mode and only receive one email from both your child(ren)'s school and the district in one readers digest format (click here to see how!). You can also enable text and push notifications (which we recommend in case of emergency). ๐ฒ
In an effort to effectively and efficiently communicate with our staff, families, and community members, the Redlands Unified School District has adopted an electronic flyer communication tool, Peachjar. If you have any questions regarding this new digital flyer service, please email peachjar@redlands.k12.ca.us ๐
The District also uses social media to share positive stories and happenings throughout the district, in addition to important dates and reminders. You can follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X (Formerly Twitter), YouTube, and LinkedIn! ๐ฑ
๐ซ School Site Communication
School site communication varies depending on site and grade level. However, all sites will send out either weekly or monthly newsletter-style communication through ParentSquare. For questions related to school site communication, please reach out to the site directly!
