The Board Brief
Straight from the Source

March 7, 2023
The Killeen ISD Board of Trustees named current KISD Deputy Superintendent of Operations Megan Bradley, Interim Superintendent, at Monday’s special called meeting. Ms. Bradley has dedicated over 25 years to serving the students, employees, and families of Killeen ISD.
Ms. Bradley is committed to maintaining the district’s mission, teach so that students learn to their maximum potential, and will continue to work closely with the school board, administrators, and employees to ensure Killeen ISD meets the needs of all students and recruits highly qualified educators.
The vote follows the news of Northside ISD naming Superintendent Dr. John Craft as the lone finalist for the San Antonio area district last week.
What Happens Next?
The Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees selected JG Consulting to conduct the nationwide search for the next Superintendent of Schools based on several factors. JG Consulting utilizes innovative and expansive methods to engage communities in compiling information to create a district-specific superintendent profile. They have also shown the ability to bring forward multiple candidates in their searches that more than meet the wants and needs of their clients. Since 2015, they have placed 30 superintendents in school districts utilizing their team of 40 consultants.
The Board of Trustees will start work immediately with JG Consulting to finalize an agreement allowing them to commence the official search process. Once finalized, JG Consulting will work with the Board of Trustees to develop a framework detailing the components and timeline of the search process. Components will include student, employee, parent, trustee, and community engagement, recruitment updates/milestones, position description, marketing & recruitment, and review of applicants. The Board of Trustees will determine which candidates are considered for an interview and decide on the selection of a lone finalist.
The Killeen Independent School District will establish a presence on the district’s website to outline the entire process and provide updates to stakeholders according to designated milestones.
