Greetings MBE Parents/Guardians-

We are looking forward to partnering with you to support your child/children to ensure success in the classroom at school and discussing ways to be proactive during our MBE Parent/Teacher Conferences. October's Leader In Me Habit will be focusing on Habit 1: Be Proactive.

Being Proactive helps all of us by empowering ourselves to be responsible, making good choices, to be held accountable to our words and actions as well as being resourceful and taking initiative.

Learning targets our students will be working towards with Habit 1: Be Proactive are:

-Students will be able to learn ways to be responsible for getting ready for the school day.

-Students will be able to learn how to hold themselves accountable to their own words and actions.

-Students will be able to use the strategy: Pause, Think, and Choose.

-Students will be able to learn about their own circle of influence and control.

Please try to make connections at home as well to these strategies and learning targets for your child/children to be successful at being proactive at home and at school.

Our Fall Parent/Teachers conferences are coming up. Here is the link if you need to sign up for them. The dates are:

Monday, October 7th from 2 to 4 pm

Tuesday, October 8th from 4:15 to 7:15 pm

Thursday, October 9th from 4:15 to 7:15 pm

Our book fair will be held during conferences in the Media Center.

Here is the link if you would like to order spirit wear for student(s) and parents. There is no delivery fee if the items are being delivered to the school and you'll select Will Call for this.

Thank you so much to our lovely volunteers for all their help at school!! Are you missing out? Sign up to volunteer! We are currently looking for help stocking the staff lounge for the LONG days of Parent Teacher Conferences and the Halloween Dance (volunteers and their family skip the line and get a voucher for concessions). The Morris Bye Halloween Dance will be on Friday, October 25th, from 7:00- 8:30 p.m. $2 Admission Per Child (parental supervision required). There will be dancing in the gym with a DJ from Bach to Rock, halloween crafts, glow items, concessions, and lots of fun! More details will be sent home in your student's Wednesday Folders.

The Parent Group will be sponsoring a dinner for our teachers at fall conferences on Tuesday, Oct. 8th. We will be asking for donations for additional items to round out dinner and stock the staff lounge. Please make sure to drop your donations off by 4pm that Tuesday.

We are having our October TNO at Subway! Please join us at the Subway by Cub foods on October 24th from 4-8pm. Subway will donate 10% of all purchases to Morris Bye! Make sure to thank them when you stop in for your sandwiches!
