Trojan Times Elementary Update
October Edition
PASSION FIRST
The Passion First mindset teaches that each of us is an unique expression of human existence, and that our lives should be focused on finding our individual genius and sharing it with the world to the maximum extent possible. You will learn to make your dreams authentic, and they will give you the fuel to overcome the many obstacles you'll face along the way.
MONTHLY RECAP
Where did October go? I can't believe it's already November. This month went even faster than September, and I have a feeling that it's not going to slow down again until June :)
We are now over a fourth of the way done with our school year. This month we learned about fire safety, demonstrated our school spirit at a Pep Rally and celebrated our school spirit on Halloween. Student Council showed their appreciation for others with their birthday celebrations, tracking compliments, and recognizing our custodial staff and principal!
There were multiple highlights from the month. The teachers and students have been working extremely hard. I'm proud of the way everyone is working to do their best. As we move further into the year, the content starts to become new, which can bring more challenges. This is the time of year we need that continued support from home. Whether it's practicing sight words, phonics rules, guided reading, math facts, or studying for a test, we all need to work together to make sure students are prepared and ready to do their best on whatever assessment presents itself. Please make sure to stay up to date with teachers by following along on their weekly newsletters or checking assignment notebooks. If you have questions, don't hesitate to reach out to the classroom teacher or myself. The more communication we have with one another the stronger our bond will be with ensuring the success of our students.
We've transitioned our morning walks inside to the multi-use facility. Students should not be arriving to school before 7:45am. At 7:45, students can eat breakfast or go to the walking area. As they enter the building, Pre-school, Begindergarten, and Kindergarten students can drop their gear off at their cubby, hook, or locker. First through fifth grade students should report directly to the walking area and should take their stuff with them to multi-use space. Please make sure coat, hat, and gloves are a part of the morning routine. We need students to be prepared for the colder weather.
