Kia ora TNIS Whānau,
As we reach the end of another great year at TNIS, we want to reflect on the many highlights, achievements, and memories that made 2024 memorable.
Celebrating a Fantastic Year
This year has been filled with remarkable accomplishments across academics, sports, and the arts. Our learners continue to amaze us with their talent, determination, and creativity. From excelling in class to shining on the sports field and performing on stage, they’ve proven what an exceptional group of young people we have at TNIS.
Memories to Treasure
We’ve made unforgettable memories at our school events this year, including Swimming Sports, Cross Country, Athletics Day, the School Disco, and the Year 8 Exhibition. These events showcased our learners' talents, highlighted the strength of our school community, and highlighted the joy of coming together to celebrate each other’s achievements.
Outstanding Learning on Display
Throughout the year, the IB PYP Units of Inquiry has been a powerful learning platform, allowing our students to explore, question, and grow as inquirers. The depth of thinking and creativity on display across all year levels has been inspiring, and we are incredibly proud of the work our learners have produced.
Farewell Year 8, Welcome Year 7 Leaders
To our Year 7 learners, the torch is now passed to you as the leaders of TNIS for 2025. We know you will rise to the challenge and continue to lead our school with pride and purpose.
To our Year 8 learners, we wish you all the best as you head to high school. You’ve been incredible role models and ambassadors for our school, and we know you’ll continue to shine wherever you go. Remember, you’ll always be a part of the TNIS family, and we look forward to hearing about your future successes.
Thank You
To all our parents, caregivers, and whānau, thank you for your unwavering support throughout the year. Your partnership with us has been vital to making 2024 such a success.
As we close the year, we hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season filled with joy and relaxation. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2025 for another fantastic year of learning and growth.

SCHOOL NEWS AND INFORMATION
Farewells and Thanks!
We are sad to farewell Josh Scrooby and Rhea Anglesey from TNIS. Josh has made a significant contribution through Sports and PE throughout his time with us as well as being a fantastic classroom teacher. He is off to pusue travel and teaching overseas.
Rhea has contributed much to the COL as our Across School Lead, and shared her considerable expertise in the literacy area including the creation of the bespoke spelling prgramme at TNIS. She has given great service to her classes and team at TNIS and is heading to Westlake Boys to take up a position in their English department.
We wish them both every success.

Market Day Roundup!
Our current Unit of Inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves, is focused on organisations and the structures and systems that make them successful. This unit culminates in a Market Day, where learners will create their organisation, analyse market research, and design a product to meet the needs of their consumers. All profits generated from the Market Day will be reinvested into the TNIS community.

Ride For Ronnie - Charity Drive
Richard Jones, our part-time gardening contractor here at TNIS, is raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease NZ, to honour the memory of a very dear friend who passed away with the disease in December 2023.
Richard will be taking part in the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge on 30th November 2024 - a 160 km annual event around the famous lake - and hopes to raise over $10,000 to help support the 400 individuals and families in NZ, who are dealing with this terrible life-ending disease at any one given time.
Please click on the link below to learn more about his efforts, his fund raising appeal and if you would like to help by contributing in any way, Richard would be enormously grateful.
